Description~ Carter has been pissed all day and he thinks Matt's annoying him so he lashes out on him. Matt runs away crying and in a bit Carter realizes what he did so he goes and apologizes and they end up being all cuddly.
Carter's POV
I got home from work and sat down on the couch. I was exhausted and super stressed out.
My boyfriend Matt walked into the room and smiled.
"Hey, Carter" he shouted and ran towards me "I missed you so much" he crawled onto my lap and hugged me.
I just reached around him and grabbed the remote for the TV. I knew I was being a total douche but I could care less.
I turned the TV on and carelessly flipped through the channels. Of course there was nothing on. I shut the TV off and threw the remote down.
I stood up and Matt fell on the floor with a loud thud.
"Carter" he said "do you wanna go get some coffee, you seem kinda upset" he got up off of the floor.
I rolled my eyes "whatever" I scoffed.
"Ok good" he smiled and ran towards the door "lets go"
I rolled my eyes again and made my way to the door. I threw my Vans on and walked out the door with Matt close behind me.
We got into my car and I backed out of the driveway. Matt began fidgeting with the stereo and eventually found a station. Classic by MKTO was playing.
"I love this song!" Matt yelled at the top of his lungs and started singing along.
I took a deep breath as I pulled into the Starbucks parking lot. Thank god I didn't have to hear anymore obnoxious singing.
We walked into the building and walked up to the counter. There was no one else here except for us.
"What do you want?" I grumbled to Matt.
He looked at the menu and bit his lip. Now he's gonna think about what he wants for the next flipping hour, I thought.
"Ummm" he hummed "I'll get a grande salted caramel frappuccino" he smiled at the guy taking our orders.
The guy smiled "of course" he winked and Matt giggled and blushed.
I gritted my teeth together and ordered a caramel brûlée latte. I payed and we sat down.
Matt was going on about some stupid thing that he saw on vine today. I just tuned him out until I heard out names being called.
I went and grabbed our coffees and I walked out the door without even looking to see if Matt was coming.
I got into my car and started the engine. I sat there waiting for Matt, where the hell is he?
I sat there tapping my fingers on the steering wheel. I checked the time. It's been five minutes.
I was just about to get out of the car when he walked out of the Starbucks and towards my car.
He opened the door and hopped in. He smiled at me.
"What took you so long?" I hissed.
"Oh well I had to go to the bathroom then that guy at the counter started talking to me and asked for my number so I-"
"Enough!" I yelled I was so done right now "seriously, Matt, I'm so done with you and your stupid annoying self. Your always doing stuff that's stupid and it just pisses me off so can you just leave me alone?" I regretted the words as soon as they left my mouth.
He winced and I saw the tears welling up in his eyes.
"Sorry, Carter" he whimpered "I don't realize that was what you thought of me"
He opened the door of my car and got out slamming it shut. I watched as he stormed off down the street.
I just sat there in silence staring in the direction he had gone. I knew I should have gone after him but I couldn't even move.
I eventually pulled myself together and realized that I had practically just told my boyfriend to f**k off cause he's annoying.
I feel like a piece of shit. He's probably all alone right now crying.
I got out of my car and walked into the Starbucks. I walked right up to the counter. The guy that had taken our orders came up to the front.
"Weren't you just he-" he didn't get a chance to finish cause I punched him square in the nose with a satisfying crunch.
"If I ever catching you even looking at my boyfriend again I'll do a lot more than just punch you" I sneered and walked out leaving him groaning in pain on the floor.
I got back into my car and started driving. Shit, I have no idea where Matt is.
I turned on the radio as I wracked my brains trying to think of where he'd be.
"A boy about the age of seventeen with blonde hair is standing on the edge of the cliff near the docks right now. He told someone that he is going to jump. The police have been notified and are on their way. He is wearing khakis, a black T-shirt and black Vans."
I immediately knew it was Matt. No no no, my poor baby was going to kill himself because of me.
I sped up as fast as I could not caring if I got pulled over. As soon as I got to the docks I began running up the hill as fast as I could.
I reached the top out of breath. Matt was standing there back facing me feet hanging half off the edge.
"Matt, don't do this" he turned around and looked at me. His face was red and his eyes were blood shot.
"It's too late, Carter" he said, his voice raspy.
"Please, Matt" I whispered stepping closer to him "I didn't mean anything I said. I was just pissed off because of my stupid co-workers and that stupid guy at Starbucks. I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you. I'm the stupid one, not you. And I understand if you don't forgive me but please don't kill yourself because I'm a f**king idiot that doesn't deserve someone as perfect as you"
He swallowed and looked over the edge of the cliff. He looked back at me and ran towards me.
I opened my arms and he ran into them knocking me over in the process. He buried his face into my neck and began to sob lightly. I stroked his hair while whispering sweet nothing's into his ear.
"By the way, I knocked some sense into that guy at Starbucks" I said "told him to back off"
He laughed "of course you did"
"Lets go home" I whispered and he nodded.
I picked him up bridal style and carried him to my car. I set him in the passenger seat and closed his door.
I walked around to the drivers side and got in starting the car. I drove back home and we walked inside.
I sat on the couch and he cuddled up next to me.
"Lets watch a movie" I said smiling softly.
"Ok" Matt sniffed.
"What do you want to watch babe?"
"Fault in our Stars?" he asked shyly.
"Whatever will make you happy" he smiled and snuggled closer to me. I kissed the top of his head.
We just stayed like that for the rest of the night snuggling on the couch and that's exactly how we fell asleep.
