Lacy rose up from the comforts of her duvet and was immediately struck with the chilling, exposing unpleasantness of the outside world. She groaned, annoyed of the sudden change in temperature on this mid December morning. She wished to cling to her safe warmth of her escape center of reality, but alas, like all the other (well mannered) seniors, she was not going to let her grades slip away from her!
"Not like last year" she thought to herself. Scenarios shot through her mind of not being able to graduate like her peers, being mocked not only for her apperance, which wasn't even bad to begin with, but also for not having the smarts to get a diploma despite her almost flawless test scores. She could hear it all now. She shook those thoughts from her mind as she finished brushing her long red hair, tying it up into a high ponytail, her baby hairs resting on the sides of her face, framing it perfectly. She was a sight, but she didn't see it, she couldn't. She'd been told too many times by her classmates that she was the opposite. In her hometown there weren't many ginger haired folk, so she stuck out like a sore thumb.
"Please let graduation come quickly." she prayed as she made her way to the bus stop.
