"Look! It's pepper head!"

"Don't get too worked up, your head might catch on fire!"

She was used to comments like this the minute she walked into the hallway, but this time the trio of familiar voices greeted her at the front doors!

Julia, a small, yet strong-willed girl with shoulder length hair narrowed her dark brown eyes at her target. She and her loyal subjects were at it again, terrorizing Lacy.

"Did they memorize my schedule just to mock me? Their first class is on the other side of the school!"
She whispered under her breath. Trying to ignore them, she made a beeline for her first class, but she wasn't watching where her feet were carrying her. Her face suddenly met someone's chest and soon after, her button hit the floor with a thud. There was cackling from the opposite side of the hallway.

Lavy's face turned crimson in embarrassment. "Wow that's awesome! Now your face matches your pepper head!" Julia snorted as her friends joined in.

Lacy wasn't sure why she'd always been bullied for her red locks. Her mother always told her she'd been jealous of the red hair Lacy had inherited from her late father. The figure she'd bumped into held out a hand.

"I'm so sorry! Here let me help-" Lacy smacks the hand away. She springs up and dusts herself off.

"Y-you've helped enough!" Lacy interjected. She finally looked up to see the face of her "humiliator" , but her eyesight was flooded with salty tears. Without another word she took off in a sprint for the nearest bathroom.

"Well, my day has been made!" Julia flipped her ash brown hair into one of her friend's faces and started walking toward her class, fashionably late of course. The others followed as if they were leashed dogs making sure to stay close behind. Lacy locks herself in a stall and cries through her first and second period thinking back to how the bullying affected her grades last year and the years prier to that. "This is why I'll never be successful!" She cries dejectedly. Suddenly she hears a knock on the bathroom door.
