An Unexpected Encounter

She was running to hide herself when she bump into an old lady. The old lady had grey hair and she was wearing a straight shining skirt and an elegant professional shirt. She had glasses on eyes and was thoughtfully staring at the girl for a while, then asked her to come with her.

Both entered a room, probably looked like a cabin of some high level authority. The old lady asked the girl to sit on one of the chairs and herself takes the chair on the other side. The moment went silent for a while and then both of them gestured to look at the door step when it got knocked. The old lady asked the person to come in.

A tall man entered the room and addressed the old lady 'Principal Finona'. The girl got her eyes widen when she realized she directly bumped into some principal and she is nowhere else but in a school. The man was the gate keeper of the school.

He asked 'Principal Finona, you wanted to see me?'

'Yes, Victor!' Finona replied. She further adds, 'what were you doing when this girl entered the school? Didn't you notice she hideously trying to get in?'

'I was only guarding the entrance gate madam. I didn't get distract from fulfilling any of my duty throughout the entire shift, not even for a single second. Apologies for what happened even in my presence principal Finona, I'll be extra cautious from now on.' Replied with an apologetic gesture.

Finona then dismissed him and turned back to the girl she bumped into earlier. 'What's your name?' She asked the girl.

'Elza!' the girl answered.

Finona then joined both the hands, her elbows are resting on the table but eyes are staring Elza suspiciously.

'So! Elza, do you mind to explain yourself?' She asked, her expression is unreadable.

Elza got scared and answered hesitantly, 'I didn't mean to intrude ma'am. I was actually running away from some weird creatures who suddenly attacked me out of nowhere when I got here. I was only trying to get myself to safety. When I entered this place I didn't realize it's a school. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience ma'am.'

Finona's eyes got widen when Elza mentioned about some weird creatures and gasped 'Creatures?' Then asked her 'Where?'

'In the nearby forest.' Elza replied.

Finona further asked 'Nobody is allowed to go there. The whole forest area is banned for every single person in here. What were doing there?' Her eyes were narrowed and brows were bend on her forehead

'I was on my way to school when all of sudden a dark smokey circle got appear before me. I couldn't balance and fall into it. I don't know how but then I entered in a wide dark forest that I have never been to before.' Elza answered.

Finona got shocked on hearing about dark Smokey circle but asked Elza to continue speaking.

Elza continued speaking 'I was searching for a way to run off of that creepy place when suddenly those weird animals attacked me. While I was running I only could find this place. So this is how I took entry in here.'

Elza further adds 'I didn't mean to intrude but I thought if anybody would see me here then they will ask me to leave this place and I didn't want to face those dangerous creatures again. This is why I was hiding from everyone. I was planning to depart as soon as no danger looking for me anymore.'

Finona was listening and thinking altogether on whatever Elza was telling to her in the office and then she spoke 'Where's your home?'

'Edgewater!' Elza answered.

Finona gave a confused look as if she had no clue about the place Elza named. She asked Elza 'There's no such place at Magicalace. Are you sure you're not cooking up imaginary stories?'

Elza'a eyes filled with tears. After holding her tears back she replied 'With all due respect ma'am, I don't know how you're not familiar with Edgewater but this is the only city I grew up in. I have all my childhood memories attached to this place. My entire life has been spent living all those precious moments. This place gave me an identity that I have today. Edgewater is one the most famous places on earth. I wonder being a learned principle and by staying on earth why don't you know about it?'

On the sudden changed tone of Elza's voice Finona attempt to look deep inside her eyes and realized that Elza is telling the truth.

Finona's expression got softened. She dismissed interrogating Elza and asked her to leave the office.

Elza was turning to leave when Finona called her and said 'Elza you can live here as far as you feel unsafe to go back.'

Elza then slightly bowed and left the office.
