Can's phone vibrated.

Techno Calling...

"Hold on a sec, Tin." Can uttered. Tin's emotions about to burst a moment ago suddenly fizzled out.

"Hello, babe..." Can answered the call. Tin's heart sank.

"Yes... Okay... You too... I love you." Can kept talking on the phone.

Tin just buried himself under his comforter and turned his back on Can. He just couldn't bear hearing Can call someone else 'babe', and tell someone else 'i love you'.

It used to be him. Only him. He wished it was still him.

Can noticed Tin's reaction, after ending the call.

He wanted to return to their conversation and ask Tin about what he would so want to tell him but decided not to anymore.

He watched Tin curl up in bed, with his back facing him. He felt quite uneasy, but he just shrugged it off and decided it's best to just leave it at that.

He should not have picked up Techno's call, he thought.

After Class

****FLASHBACK****

23/11/2011

"What are you doing later after class?" Techno asked Can, hoping he would say 'nothing' so he can invite him over to their house to play videogames. He spent his birthday money to buy the game he heard Can was currently obsessed with.

"Nothing." Can answered, busy fiddling with his cellphone. "But I might go to Tin's house to play some videogames."

Techno's heart shrunk. Tin again. It's always Tin.

"You don't even hang out with us anymore, you always spend your time with that freak," Techno spoke.

Can put down his phone and gave Techno a mean look. "He is not a freak."

"You're not sure of that. You barely know him yet." Techno snickered.

"That's why I want to spend time with him. It's called the getting-to-know-you stage." Can quipped.

Techno's face went from eager to somber.

"So?" Techno asked.

"So what?" Can replied. "So you're going to Tin's house later?" Techno narrowed his eyes. "Yeah. Why?" Can answered, back to fiddling with his phone.

"You ditched my first time starring for a school play in exchange for a 'photoshoot' (making air quotation signs) with Tin. You stopped hanging out with me every afternoon break, because of Tin. You missed my important swimming competition because you forgot about it because you and Tin went to the mall the whole day." Techno's voice was already shaking.
