What was Musgra up to? I mused to myself, pondering over endless possibilities. I grabbed a rugged, lime-green watering can and hovered it over the plants. It was a calming sight watching the rich soil soak the water hungrily. So full of life. The sugary pink petals curled around eachother in a protective fist. The middlemist camellia- One of the rarest, most enchanting plants throughout the kingdoms. Atleast that's what the thick, ancient gardening book in the library claimed. Why wasn't she back yet? It was extremely dangerous and daft to wander around the palace at night! Even the kings themselves were bolted tightly in their bed chambers at this time! Her bravery and courage was admirable, yet she was so stubborn... Good heavens, i needed to distract myself! This endless worrying and anxiety was driving me insane! Even more insane than i already was.
My eyes swept across the ritzy, plush wallpaper swamped with Musgra's paintings and pictures. Each one captivated and enthralled you, it's beauty and sorrow luring you towards it. Each steady flick or brush captured a thousand stories and emotions- It was her way of escaping her cruel, merciless surroundings. Mine was singing. I parted my lips and felt the notes trickle out in a melodic hypnosis. "Dancing with the daffodils, on a fine summers day..." My voice trailed off. The song sounded eerie and haunting all of a sudden. Oh, where was she?
Suddenly- Hssssss The sound of sizzling captured my attention. "Oh no!" The camellia appeared to be frying as its leaves withered and flaked off. To my dismay, the stem drooped and aged a mouldy colour. Heart beggining to flutter uneasily, i eyed the watering can. Gingerly clutching the handle, i poured a few drops off water onto the bed stand. In a matter of minutes, the wood burned and crisped. There was only one explanation.
"Poisen." Musgra said from behind me.

"Oh where were you?" Molda rushed to me and flung her arms tightly around my pale neck. I bruried my face into her golden, caramel waves before holding her shoulders at arms length. "I need to show you something." Her eyes widened with panic "N-no, I will not leave this room." Ignoring her feeble protests, i rummaged through the wardrobe for her malachite-green and gold mask before tossing it at her. My eyes urgently met hers, silencing her protests with an icy, determined glare. "Stay under your cloak at all times and keep your eyes firmly on me. If you value your life, do not make a sound." Wincing, she accepted the mask and lowered it onto her face. Her whole body trembled and quivered with dread and terror. She was waiting for my words of reassurance and encouragement- But I couldn't bring myself to console her. As much as I tried, I couldn't. Life had ruined and affected me more than Molda, hence why I had built up arrow-proof walls of ice around my heart that deprived me from showing compassion. I armired Molda. I admired her for keeping her sanity that one ounce more than me.
Taking a shuddering breath, I twisted the brass door knob and exited the room. Molda's prescence had a calming effect on me. We were immersed in foggy, gloomy darkness. You couldn't even see the floor you were treading on. I resented the fact that it left us vulnerable of the creatures that lurked inside it, but it did smother us in a cloak of invisibility so we were unseen. I had been through this journey numerous times so I knew what steps to take without the advantage of light. My skin tingled with anticipation and I couldn't prevent my heart from palpitating rapidly with fear. It was inhuman how it made you feel. At night the palace became alive.
the twists and turns of the of the perplexing, never-ending corridors off by heart, yet never did I get used to the spine-chilling, blood-curdling sensation it made you feel. Haunting, teasing footsteps sounded from behind us. I sensed Molda hesitate behind me but I desperatly clung onto her hand and yanked her harshly along with me. I did not want to wait to find out who, or what, that was! Soon, the charcoal black suffocating us dissolved into a golden hue.
