Mina sat at her desk, surprised that she wasn't called out for tardiness. Like her everyday routine, she took out her journal and began writing. Normally, she would have paid full attention to the lesson right in front of her. Today, however, was different. She now has a chance to make her first friend since she transferred to South Korea.

In her old school in Japan, she was quite popular by association. She wasn't exactly "popular material" - she was a huge anime fan, plus she loved to play both pc and console - but the few friends she had were the talk of the school. Many people would be interested in Mina because of this, drawing them to her often overlooked beauty.

She definitely shouldn't have peaked during middle school. Though she hadn't changed since her social days, it seemed like no one was particularly interested in talking to Mina at her current school. Mina didn't like initiating the conversation, so people would think that she was unapproachable. Not until today that is.

That glorious day, not one, not two, but three people spoke to her! Plus, one of them wanted to meet her during lunchtime! Throughout her teacher's lectures, Mina wrote down what she would tell Tzuyu during their date friendly outing. She tried to recap as much as she could from this morning.

The note read:

I arrived at school 15 mins prior

I saw the girls with flyers

They explained they would be the seniors in charge of the school play.

They brought up the embarrassing reading I presented in my advanced English class.

The begging started

The note continued as Mina filled pages with extra details and tidbits; just in case Tzuyu were curious. She decided to write the list in English. If she misplaced it, she doubted that her peers could read it. English literature was one of her many talents. In fact, literature in general is one of her strongest points. Those girls wanted her to audition, but acting was an art Mina hadn't tried. Singing and dancing? Not a problem. But acting in front of an auditorium filled with people? She wasn't sure. Who knows, maybe it would be fun.

Mina was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the lunch bell go off. She waddled out the door, excited to meet with Tzuyu. Notebook at hand, she searched the halls wondering where she might be. Judging by the other girl's appearance, she seemed like she was around Mina's age. However, when she looked for Tzuyu in the other second year classes, she was nowhere to be seen.

Mina desperately searched the halls. Tzuyu didn't joke about meeting up, did she? The penguin asked herself. Could she be mean enough to do that? Tzuyu didn't look mean... or maybe she forgot? She was pretty enough to be popular. Maybe she decided to eat with someone else. I wouldn't blame her, I'm quite plai-

Her train of thought was soon interrupted when she heard her name being called.

"MINA! MYOUI MINA!"

She walked towards the voice, wondering if it were Tzuyu. She was surprised to see a couple of middle schoolers calling for her. Mina then corrected herself, realizing that those middle schoolers wore her school's uniform. She shuffled towards the two, scared if they were going to yell at her.

"MYOUI MINAAAAAAA!" The pasty one screamed once more. She stepped in front of the two timidly and bowed. "I-I am she..."

The smaller of the pair let out a toothy grin. "Hiya! I'm Chaeyoung and this is Dahyun. We're from class 1-D."

The girl as white as tofu continued, "We're Tzuyu's friends and classmates. She told us that you two were going out for lunch-" The tiger toothed one covered her friend's mouth.

"But not like 'going out' going out." Chaeyoung explained, causing Mina to turn red. "But meet up, you know?"

Though she was almost too flustered to talk, the second year mustered her strength. "So where might she be?"

"Dahyun removed Chaeyoung's hand and chuckled. "She got in trouble for being late! Pfffft- The entire class tricked her into thinking no one noticed - hehehehee -, butHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" the piece of tofu went into a laughing fit. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Chaeng! HAHAHHAHAHA! Continue please!" Clutching her stomach, Dahyun leaned on the lockers for support.

"Don't worry, she's always like this." Chaeyoung sighed. "Anyways, yea. Tzu had to stay in with our teacher, so she sent us to find you." She scanned Mina as if she were a five course meal. "How'd our maknae stumble across such a pretty upperclassmen..." she grumbled.

Normally, Mina would have teared up at the comment, but she couldn't grasp the thought of Tzuyu being younger than her, let alone those two. "So Tzuyu still wanted to meet up?" Chaeyoung simply nodded.

Dahyun cleared her throat, now standing as tall as she could. "She also told us to bring you back to our class. She wanted to use whatever time was leftover to talk." The tiger smiled. "Tzuyu is so reserved that's it's kinda weird to meet someone through her." The three girls giggled softly.

"Well, I guess that's one thing we have in common."

The two freshmen stared at Mina, confused by her statement. "Aren't you two close friends?" Dahyun asked quite bluntly.

"U-uh... we just met this morning..." Mina explained. "Did she introduce me as her friend?" Her face lit up, thinking about how nice it would be to spend more time with these girls. They seemed nice enough.

"Tzu didn't say much about you come to think of it." Chaeyoung admitted. "We just kinda assumed you were friends from Taiwan."

"Taiwan?"

Dahyun nodded. "That's where she's from."

"Ah, I am from a different country, but not Taiwan. I was born in America and raised in Japan."

Dahyun groaned. "I already have to deal with a Taiwanese girl who speaks Korean and sings J-pop. Now we're adding a Japanese-American who speaks Korean to our group??"

Mina crosses her arms and raised a brow. "Is there a problem with that?" She asked firmly, somehow giving the aura of both a sexy murderer and a pouting child.

Chaeyoung went on her toes to pat the penguin's head. "She doesn't mean anything by it. It's just that Tzuyu sometimes swears at us in a different language. Drives us crazy..." Mina's face softened at the absurd reasoning, both confused and guilty for assuming.

As the baby tiger hopped down to her regular height, Dahyun bowed. "I didn't mean to sound racist."

"I-it's alright. I understand now."

The tofu stood back up with a smile. "Welp, we should get going. We still have about forty minutes left, so maybe we can get buns at the cafeteria before we go to Tzuyu-ah."

The two first years made their way through the halls with the second year following behind them. Chaeyoung signalled for them to stop and wait for Mina. Once the three of them were together, the three walked down the corridors side-by-side.Though it was a small gesture, Mina appreciated feeling like a part of the group.

"Hey Mina-unnie?"

"Yes Dahyun?"

"You wouldn't happen to be the reason Tzuyu-ah was late, would you?"

Mina turned red and covered her face with her journal. Dahyun and Chaeyoung laughed silently at their elder's cute actions. Chaeyoung pretended to roll her eyes. "Well, I guess I can let Tzuyu have her fun with this one." She joked.

"Oh, Dahyun-unnie!" Chaeyoung suddenly called. "You know this means that you're not the oldest in the group anymore right? Mina-unnie is now!"

"DAMMIT!!"
