Chapter 4 - slap

Chapter 4-

Hermione took Ron into his room and sat on the bed.

"I can't believe that he cheated on my sister with another guy! And not just any other guy, Malfoy! He's been bullying all of us for years and it was his lot's fault that Fred died!"

Hermione was angry with Ron for using that sort of language towards Harry as she was not against gays as Ron so clearly was, however she did see Ron's point about Malfoy. She wished he'd told Ginny when she told him too.

"Calm down Ron," Hermione told her boyfriend "I told Harry to tell Ginny weeks ago but he didn't."

"You knew!" Ron shouted "you knew and you never told me!"

"I knew about him being gay but not about Malfoy!" Said Hermione, who was starting to get slightly scared of Ron due to his current tone of voice.

"You knew he was gay and you were ok with that?!" Ron exclaimed "He's a freak and you know it."

"He's not a freak Ron." Hermione answered

"So you're on his side now are you! You think it was okay that he cheated on my sister!"

"No! Of course not! But there's nothing wrong with him being gay." She stood up for her friend's sexuality but realised it was a mistake when she was given a hard slap across the cheek from her boyfriend. Almost crying she ran out the room.

"Hermione, I'm sorry..." Was all she heard

"I feel bad for Ginny." Harry said as he sat in his room with Draco, minutes after his fight with Ron, an ice pack pressed against his nose. "I should've told her earlier and now I've lost my best friend over it."

"Don't worry about it," said Draco "they'll come around eventually. Wait a couple of days until everything's calmed down and then try and explain yourself to Ginny."

"Yeah, good idea." Said Harry.

Just then, Hermione stormed into the room, teary eyed.

"Are you ok, Hermione?" Asked Harry

"That bastard slapped me!" Replied Hermione who immediately began properly crying. Harry instantly heading to the door.

"Don't harry! You'll just make thing worse!" she said as he sat back down. "None of this would have happened if you'd told Ginny when I'd told you to."

"I know Hermione, but I just felt so bad that I'd led her on and stuff." Harry said in response

"And really," Hermione continued, her tone now quieter "Malfoy? Is he really the guy you want to be with?"

"I am here you know!" Came Draco's voice from across the room.

"He's changed Hermione." Harry defended his boyfriend

"Ok," Hermione said "just be careful." She then stood up and headed for the door however before she could leave, Malfoy said something to her.

"By the way Granger," he began "sorry for calling you mudblood all those times."

"Thanks Malfoy," Hermione smiled at him "bye." She then left and went back to her own dormitory.
