“To expand the company.” I spoke with a mocking tone in my voice as I sat arms crossed in front of my grandfather. Not believing the words that were falling out of his mouth as soon as he had walked through the door.  Sheepishly, he nodded his head raising his left hand to rub his temple before looking back up at me. The tiredness in his eyes were evident he had procrastinating in telling me this information to the extent he had broke down in my office as soon as my assistant had shut the door.

“Think about it logically, by combining the two companies we can be making more profit.” He said as if he was trying to negotiate in me buying a piece of property from him, “Think of this as a business deal.” He suggested watching me carefully, as he sat back in his chair. I thought about it for a moment what he was saying then came to a clarification in no way can this be a business deal, especially not those that I invest in.

“This is a marriage you are talking about.” I stated to him to watch him cringe in the realization that I was angered by what he was saying, “Not some business deal.”

“You have built this business by yourself from the ground up…”

“Yes, I did build the business and I do not want some idiot walking through the doors taking over.” I cut in trying to point out where this plan had flaws.

“You see my granddaughter this is not the Victorian times where the women’s wages went to the husband, you will still have complete control of the company.” He said to counter the argument. Did I really want to expand the company by marrying a man who I do not love? Who has been in magazines with different women every day? Who has been called the playboy of Wall Street?  Unlike him I had earned to run this company whereas, he had the company he runs handed down to him. While I was probably building my empire, he was probably having the time of his life by spending the money of his parents.  Many rumours surrounded him for example like drugs or the fact different women told papers that he was the father of their children. Most of the time those stories where silenced within a day or two unlike the first outbreak of him being a father of a child. Would I really want a man like this to by my husband? I think not I thought bitterly to myself.

“I still do not understand why I need to marry this man?” I questioned further. I did not care if this was a way to expand the business I would not marry a man with his track record.

“Alex understands that your company is thriving to ensure it stays that way you need this opportunity. “My grandfather pleaded. He looked shattered as if he was up all night thinking. His tanned face was lined with wrinkles; his once happy face was contorted in to one that only showed misery. He really did know how to make me feel bad. Biting the inside of my cheek, I looked back at my grandfather. It made my heart clench from the misery on his face.

“Do I get to meet him before I marry this man?” I asked with a sigh looking up at my grandfather from my eyelashes. His face broke into a large Cheshire grin it almost made me laugh at the fact he looked like a child opening a present on Christmas day.

“Yes you do get to meet him before you marry. However, you will not marry straight away we want the media to think you married for love not to unite the businesses. So for six months you will go out and then marry.” He held up his left hand when I was about to speak, silencing my question, “You absolutely cannot tell another soul about the agreement.” I nodded as a response because my mouth felt numb. “Oh and he will be coming by shortly, he would like to come and see you.”

“Why?” it was one of the dumbest questions I had asked in my twenty years of life. On the inside I was scowling myself on the outside I was watching outside the glass window of my door to see if I could see a man who was claiming to be… what I do not know what to call them.

“To see you of course.” My grandfather chuckled, “It took quite the time to agree says his father.” He shook his head after what he had said. I know I do not want to marry me and he may not want to marry me but how dare he took so long to agree. I felt like I should have waited longer to say yes now I felt stupid.

“Why did he take so long?” I questioned my grandfather catching my scowl on the shiny black surface of my desk top.

“Given his life style you see.” Was my grandfather’s reply as he stood from his chair, which I then roused from mine. “Well I bid my goodbyes.” My grandfather said giving me a short wave before leaving the room. Leaving me alone to surrender to my own thoughts I collapsed into my chair not feeling like doing work anymore.

The sunlight from the sun poured into my office, groaning I threw another piece of scrunched of paper in the bin. Twirling, my office chair around I was greeted by the sight of New York City with the sun high up in the sky. Streets were cluttered by people if I opened one of the windows I would hear the shouts and horns of the traffic. Groaning I ran a hand though my hair as I walked over to my cabinet and opened a bottle of whiskey before pouring myself a glass. My mind felt as if it was overcrowded with thoughts. Yesterday came back in hazy memories. Walking back to my chair I tried to think about what had actually happened.

Running a hand through my hair all I remembered is walking up to, Daniel’s office to see Lillian what I cannot understand is how we both got to my room. Daniel had messaged me yesterday saying he wanted to grab a bite to eat. When I drove over to his office, I had walked up to his office. Well after having a make out session with his assistant. Then when I had opened his door, I found his fiancé looking out of the window watching the sun turn from yellow to orange. She did look radiant wearing the white high knee dress with her platinum blonde hair swaying in the wind. I was about to go when she turned around to me. Her beautiful ocean eyes were puffy as if she was crying for a while.

Then I think we talked for a while just a normal conversation I was made sure I did not break any boundaries as she was my best friend’s fiancé. I think I offered to take her out to a sushi restaurant that Daniel and me used to go. After that, we had gone to a bar and had a couple of drinks. From there it goes hazy but now when I think about Lillian I cannot but fawn over how beautiful she is. Her tall curvy figure with her straight platinum blonde hair that fell to the middle of her back or her enormous blue eyes that enticed me. When I woke up to find her getting dressed into her clothes and her saying that this was a mistake. However, I felt that it was not a mistake that it should have happened.

Now my father is saying that I have to go and marry some girl who I do not know. I was interrupted from my thoughts when a knock came. “Come in.” I said to whom ever maybe there.

A curvy red head entered my office wearing a very short black skirt. “Sir I wanted to ask you something.” She said walking over to me shaking her hips.

“That will be.” I said getting up from my sit and reaching her half way.

“Well…” I cut her off by crashing my lips on to hers. Automatically her hand started clawing in to my hair as I picked her up and placed her on my table. Her hand started to fiddle with my tie as I started to kiss down her neck.

“Am glad to see we are on the same page.” I said huskily in her ear.

“Yes sir.” She answered back before I crashed my lips back on to hers.
