The Unexpected

Chapter 2

What am I going to tell my parents? What am I going to tell Allison? Is that blond guy the father? Why did this happen?
  All these thought ran through my head. I have to tell someone. I get out of the bathroom, grab my bag and walk our the door. I walk the 2 block to that blond guy's house. When I get there, I knock on the door to come face to face with a girl. "Hi, uh, can I help you?" She asked. "Are you this guys sister?" I ask. "No, I'm his girlfriend." She says awkwardly.
   "Where is he?" Just as I asked that he comes to the door. "Is there something wrong?" He asked. "No, I just need to talk to you......alone."
    "Okay. Baby, go inside and get something to eat." The blond tells his girlfriend. "Okay." She kisses his cheek and walks inside. "What's going on?" He asked when she was gone.
   "I'm pregnant." I state bluntly. "What?" He laughs. "I'm pregnant." I say once again.
   "Okay, so your pregnant?" The blond boy asked. "Yes, I know it's a lot to take in but yep." I tell him. "Are you sure I'm the father?" He questions. "I mean, I'm not a whore and you're the last person I slept with." I say, annoyed.
    "How am I supposed to trust you?"
    "You don't have to, I just want you to know this is your child, you don't have to have nothing to do with it. Keep this secret away from everyone, even your girlfriend, that you cheated on last night, I don't care. Just remember that this child will never know its father." I snap. I turn to walk away.
   "Wait, wait, wait. Okay, so what do you want? Money, clothes?" He asked. "Really? No, I want this baby to have a dad." I yell. "Don't you think I want a baby with my girlfriend?" He yells back. "Well, you should of thought about that before last night."
   And with that I walked off, leaving him. I go to Allison's house once again but this time she's awake. "Hey, where have you been?" She asked cheerfully. "At that guys house." I say. "Who was the lucky guy last night?" She asked.
     "Well, let's see, he has blond hair, about 6'5,  has a girlfriend, and oh, HOSTED THE PARTY!"
   "Wait, you and Javin? I told him you were off limits!" She starts to get mad. "Yeah, and that's not all. He got me pregnant." I tell her. "Woah, what? How do you know?" She asked.
    "Uh, I don't know, I was puking and I toke a test."
    "Did you tell him?"
    "Yeah, he wanted to give me money." I started to cry. "What? I thought he was better than that." Allison gets up to comfort me. "You wanna go talk to him with me?" Allison asked.
   "No, I just wanna get over this. Maybe I shouldn't keep this baby."
   "Don't say that. Its both of y'alls baby. Not just your, not just his, both of y'alls. Don't give up on it." She says. "Okay, I'm going to go home to tell my parents. Probably get disowned." I laugh. "Well, if ya do, come live with me." She laughs.

   'Okay, here we go.' I walk into my house. "Hey sweetie, why are you home so early?" She asked curious. "Momma, I got something to tell you." I'm so nervous. "Okay, go ahead." She says.
    "So me and Allison, we hang out on the weekends, right?" "Yes" "Well, on these weekends, she always wants me to go to parties with her." "Yes, I know." "And, I uh, drank a lot. More than usual."
   "And?" She asked. "I'm uh, pregnant." She stayed silent. "Momma, I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking...." She cut me off. "Honey, I'm not mad. Yes, you shouldn't of done this, you being 17 but still, I'm going to be a grandmother!" She smiles.
    I let out a breath of relieve. "Okay, so your no gonna like kill me?" I joke. "Nope. I actually can't wait to see what it looks like. By the way, who's the father?" She questions. "Oh, uh he's probably not gonna be apart of its life."
   She frowns. "Why?" "Well, maybe because he doesn't want to." I drop my head. "Do you at least know his name?" She wonders. "Yeah, Javin."
   "Okay, well. Good luck. I'm so excited!" She squeals and walks away, giving me a hug.
   I sigh and walk up to my room and lay on my bed. 'Well, no periods and no sleeping on my stomach.' I lay back and fall asleep.

   "Hey honey, I hope you don't mind but I made a doctor's appointment so we have to get there." My mom says, waking me up the next morning. 'Wow, I slept that long?' I set up out of the bed and get dressed.
   Once I'm done with that I go downstairs and to the kitchen. "Hey, what's for breakfast?" I ask sitting down. "Bacon and eggs!" She replies cheerfully. "Yum!" I dig in and get done in 4 minutes.
   I get a text for Allison.
Alli💙❤💙: hey, what ya doing today?
I respond.
Me: going to the doctor, mom set an appointment.
Alli💙❤💙: what doctor?
Me: same one both out mom's went to when they were pregnant with us.
  I set my phone down when my mom says my name. "Honey, we have to go shopping for you some clothes too." She says. "Okay, as long as they're not, ya know, girly." She laughs. "Of cource."
  With that we left.

  Once we were inside the doctor came in. "Hello, and how are we today?" He greeds. "Um, well. I'm pregnant." I say nervously. "Okay, well, we'll do an ultrasound and see how healthy the baby is. Who's the father?"
   Just as I was about to answer, there was a knock on the door. The doctor turns around and opens it. In walks in Javin. "Hey, sorry I'm late." He says. "Who are you?" My mother asked. "I'm Courtney's boyfriend." He says walking over to me kissing my forehead. I give a confused and angered expression to Javin to were he winks.
   My mom also has an confused look.

   Once the ultrasound is over the doctor pulls my mom out of the room, which leaves me and Javin in there. "Why the hell are you here?" I ask.
   He hangs his head. "Because I wanna be apart of this kids life." He says. "Why do you want to now? And what about tour girlfriend? Does she know?" I question.
   "No, because we broke up." He says. "Why's that?" I ask. "Because Penny was pregnant with my best friend's child." He snapped. "Some friend." I mumble.
  "I know right? So I thought, if anyone is gonna have a baby that I'm gonna raise, it might well be you." He states. "Okay, listen. I know you're in a confused situation but why me?"
  "Because you're a good person who I can tell can raise a child." After he said that my mom and the doctor comes in the room. "Okay, the baby is fine and it's very healthy but you're gonna have to get some new clothes and no sleeping on your stomach." He chuckles and walks out of the room.
   "Okay, I know you're not my daughters boyfriend so who are you?" My mom asked. Javin sighed. "Uh, ma'am, I know I'm not supposed to lie to the doctors but I am the kids father but just not her boyfriend." He replies.
