I wake in a bed with my leg and my arm in a cast. I see my mom in a chair with her face buried in her hands. I hear her saying "please wake up, please wake up".

"Mom?" I say.

She lifts her head and her eyes widen.

"Jordan!" She rushes toward me. "Oh thank god your awake."

She kneels next to my bed.

"Why were you outside without me knowing?" She asks. "I was scared to death."

"What happened? Why am I hear? We need to go to the-

"Jordan!" She interrupts me. "You got run over by a car."

"What?" I say.

I try to get up but I feel a sharp pain on the left side of my neck. I clench my teeth to prevent myself screaming, but instead I let out a weird groan.

"What happened to my neck?" I ask.

"Your neck had a big cut on it and they gave you stitches." She replies.

"What else?" I ask.

"You..." She swallows hard.

"I what?"

"You were also in a coma." She says trying not to cry.

"What's a coma?" I ask.

"It's when your asleep and you can't wake up." She says. "But your not exactly dead yet."

"Then how long was I asleep? I ask

"You were asleep for seven days." She replies.

For a couple minutes the room goes silent. Why was I asleep for seven days? It didn't even feel like seven days, it felt like two hours. My mom sits back down on her chair and sighs.

"I can't lose you, you know." She says. "Ever since your father died, I haven't been caring about what I still have. But now, I will be protecting you and your brother and sister. And I will try not to cry so often."

"Wait, where are they?" I ask.

"Their at uncle Chads place." She replies.

A nurse walks into the room with a clipboard. She has blonde hair with coco coloured eyes, Pretty.

"Hey," she says. "Your awake?"

"Yeah, I guess so." I shrug.

"Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Connie, I will be your nurse." She says.

"Oh," I say. "Well I'm Jordan."

Connie smiles and she writes something down on her clipboard.

"I have a question." I say.

"No problem," says Connie. "What is it?"

"When will I be out of the hospital?" I ask.

"Well," she says. "You've broken your leg but there are two bones broken on your arm. So you will be out of here as soon as your leg heals but you will still have to wear a cast on your arm. You will have to go to the doctors twice a month for a new medication for it to heal faster. But now it's getting late, you have to get some rest. If you need something, Edward will be outside your room."

"Where will you go mom?" I ask.

"Oh I'll be sleeping at Chads place." She replies. "And Connie if anything happens to her you call me you understand."

Connie nods. "Of course."

"Bye honey." She says.

"Night." I say.

Connie leaves the room with my mom. And I close my eyes, and think of nothing.
