Recap: He wasn't able to hurt us because we knew exactly what he was going to do and we decide to beat him at his own game.
Iz's POV
We meaning charlotte's other ego and me are going to get our mates to help us send the volturi away before they could get near us. I looked back and saw that my mate was anger not at me through but at the volturi for trying to capture us. He was ready to attack them but I just gave him a look that told him to stay where he was until I needed him. He caught my look and he nodded that he would stay put but that didn't mean he liked it. I then said "Aro you can either accept that we are with our mates or we will go to war for the vampire world and we both know who will win." Then he said the worst thing that he could have said "Really Iz are we going to go to war because I can kill the children that you had before Maria killed you." I had a look of horror on my face and so did my captain. We knew what we needed to do. "Aro we want you to leave this area and we won't go to war. We want to protect those we love." He nodded and then said "We will be back in a hundred years. Make sure you stay out of trouble." Then they left without a word. After they left my mate ran up to me grab me and took me to our room and prepared to check me for wounds. Once we knew for sure that the volturi had left for good my mate carried me into our bedroom place me in the middle of the room and started checking me for any wounds that I could have gotten in the battle.
