looking out the window she watched the world pass by, she couldn't seem to catch a grip on what had just happened not even fifteen minutes ago. Shouldn't I be even a little scared? She asked herself.
No.
Something inside her growled.

We don't fear anyone.

Her breath hitched in her throat. She had no clue where that came from, She hadn't even acknowledged that the man was speaking until he slapped her leg. Looking away from the window her eyes fall on him.

"How are you feeling?"

" Why do you care?" Her tone was hard and cold.

He shook his head and clenched the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white.

"I don't care."

She just looked at him, a blank expression on her face and looked back out the window.

"Would you rather me start screaming and cause a scene?"

He ignored her.

He probably thinks that just because he just kidnapped me that I'm going to beg him to let me go or to take me back home when... I don't want to go back. He feels that what he is doing is hurting me when really he's helping me, helping me escape that house and the ones I call my family.

She looked up at him, his look was one of surprise and confusion and maybe a bit of...admiration maybe? His brows scrunched and then he looks up, opened his mouth to speak but no words escape through his parted lips then he looks back at the road and continued driving.

I wonder what mother will think when I don't come home. Will she be upset? Worried? Angry? I hope not.

Her father is not one to be a given father of the year award to, he is mean, hateful and down right evil. Elana couldn't remember the last time her father even looked at her without that damn cold icy glare, it was so full of hate. She's never understood what her mother sees in him or if she ever saw anything in him anyway, for as long as she can remember her parents never showed any affection towards each other. Well besides the occasional sex. Not saying her mother isn't far behind from her father but she at least showed some affection for her, well when she's not yelling and screaming and giving her an occasional slap across the face, she was okay, scary , but okay.

Every day was pretty much the same for Elana. She went to school, came home, cleaned and then scurried off upstairs to her room before her mother and father came home. nothing really changed, she was stuck in a rut and this was the only thing that was slightly entertaining to ever happen.

Well It's not everyday you get kidnapped off the sidewalk.

A part inside of her hissed.

And the guy is actually kind of hot too.

Unknowingly her eyes darted up to his face in the rear view mirror . She finally took time to actually let his features sink in. The stubble on his jaw and chin, how his eyes looked so blue, and how his eyebrows looked so thick and perfect. She couldn't understand why someone like him would need to kidnap a girl like her.

Maybe someone else wants you and he's just the mail man.

Or he's just that desperate.

Whatever the reason was she just didn't know why it had to be her? Why her? Surely he would want someone who at least looked decent right? Not some pale girl who barely weighed 100 pounds, barley stood 5'3, had wild brown curls that reached her rib cage, and green eyes the size of dinner plates, hell to top it off she could pass for a 10 year old. Why would anyone want her.
