1897

DeStorm's modern carriage dropped DeStorm off at the entrance of the library. I entered.

"Hello, Sir!" The sweet librarian greeted DeStorm. He smiled at her. He then walked to the back of the library to the novel section, his favorite. He picked up a book he hasn't read.

"The Mute Child".

I put it back, then got another.

"Dumb But Smart".

I placed the book down. I saw a book in the corner of my eye. I walked over to eat and pulled it out of the shelf. I read the book's title.

"Escape The Night".

I read the blurb and it was VERY interesting I was dying to read it. I eagerly checked the book out and ran back to the carriage. We arrived home and took off. DeStorm ran up to his room, coat tails flying behind him. He sped through the book catching every detail in the first chapter. He then closed the book.

"Wow....That was a journey. I need to read more!" DeStorm though to himself.

DeStorm reopened the book and read the next chapter. It was early that morning and DeStorm hadn't slept. He had stayed up all night so that he could finish the novel.

"I'm so tired, but it was worth it. At least I don't have any work today." DeStorm thought to himself.

DeStorm collapsed on his bed and knocked out cold. He had a dream where he was trying to escape the night.

When DeStorm woke up, the only thing on his mind was the book. DeStorm quickly got up, undressed and headed into the shower. I lathered myself in body wash and rinsed it off. I dressed and headed to the book.

"I wonder who the novelist is." DeStorm thought to himself. "If the name's on the book, I can ask the librarian if she has any other books of their's. Then I can read them."

I picked up the book and as I thought, the names was printed at the bottom. There was the name I despised ever sense age 8.

"Alex Burriss"
