Walking through the school gates is the first test. At the start of the year nothing is more vital and fundamentally important in helping you have a good year at school. You see girl after girl walk past with their top button undone, skirt well above the knee and hair blowing effortlessly in the cool breeze. They all pass with flying colours. Some even draw the eyes of a few students. This year they will be known as desirable, fun and most definitely become known as popular. You see guys eyebrows raise and their mouths drop into a classic star struck smile. Me? I think I repel everyone as soon as I enter the gates. My skirt sits past the knee making me resemble a high school nun. My hair is tightly bound in a low ponytail and my top button is securely fastened. I don't have the guts to disobey the uniform code of conduct like my peers. Unlike the lucky majority I'm deemed uncool, a teachers pet and a stuck up who doesn't want to live their life. Fair? Probably not. True? It's basically my life's sentence for the rest of the year. Changing a teenagers opinion once they've formed it is like trying to escape from the highest security prison in the world. Impossible.*Skys prov*
I arrive at school out of breath and in a frenzy, I need to meet up with Jack before class starts. I swallow back the embarrassment of wearing a uniform that barely fits me and try desperately to blend in. I feel eyes glued to my slim thighs and even smaller butt. Judging me, sizing me up. As usual I brush it off with a perfectly relaxed and rehearsed smile. Locking eyes with the people who dare challenge me. As usual no one comments. My eyes scan the courtyard for any of my friends. I lock eyes with two other girls who I often spend time with. I jog towards them and give them a hug.
"How was summer ladies?" I question, fighting the erg to pull down my skirt.
"Decent." The taller of the girls answers, excited that I'm talking to her. I think her names Amelia but I'm not too sure. "You look like you've lost weight." The other girl deadpans. "But it suits you."
I turn my grimace into a grin and try to act like my weight isn't the reason I've lost my period and half of my hair. "Thanks Amy." I grin, twirling my hair. "You both look stunning."
They share a smile and blush. I laugh and wave them away as I head off to find my boyfriend. As I walk away my eyes catch on Chloe. Literally the perfect girl in every way. She has curves in all the right places and has a uniform that fits. Her sleek blonde hair looks much nicer than my dirty brown as is tied out of her face elegantly. She gets perfect grades and doesn't pretend to be someone she's not. Frowning I turn my eyes away and keep walking. How much easier would my life be if I was her?Hi All! I hope you enjoyed the story. I didn't think I'd be publishing it but I thought it might be super relatable. What do you think?
