Winston studied these words again with a small frown, his eyes narrowed. He carefully took a shaky breath. "Unsettling much...?" He whispered to her. Cadenza was speechless. She took a step back, pressing against the wall, sliding down until she had been sitting. Her body trembling with fear. "I-I don't get it... Why... WHY ARE WE HERE?"
Winston glanced over to Cadenza, and winced, stepping over and sitting down by her, gently rubbing her shoulder. "I don't know what the hell is going on but we'll get out of here. I swear we're gonna be okay." He murmured to her."I don't understand. Everything was fine before but now... now it's as if someone trapped us here." Her head hung low, she would shake but she didn't cry. "What do we have to do to leave? Fuck..."
Winston frowned and glanced off to the side while looking at the words that were written on the wall. "Well... let's analyze the situation first. We sort of got a clue. So that's our next priority once we find the other people. Maybe each clue will bring us closer in getting out of here." "Yes... you're right." She took a huge gulp breath. "Get your shit together, Cady." She muttered to herself. "Let's continue going to the east exit. Who knows? Maybe it's open." The two stood up and continued where they left off.
As the two proceed, they would see the various objects the school held, trophy cases, water fountains, the auditorium, clinic and a few portraits hanging on the wall. The windows surrounding them showed them dark void that swirled out beyond them.
They have finally reached the exit but unfortunately for them, it won't budge from literally anything. They used pipes, chairs, ropes, and even a god damn scissors. They were desperate to get the door open but to no avail. They went to inspect other exits but the results were the same. Nothing.
"I think... I think we're trapped in here." Cadenza panted from exhaustion, panic slowly hitting her. "What do we do now, Winston?" She whispered, sadness lingering from her voice. "I... I... we, ah... get-" A loud shriek cut him off, making the two of them jump from the loudness. "She must be close!"
"Help!" Someone screamed in agony from the distance. It was coming from the second floor. The two were alerted and quite shocked to hear someone but they quickly ran over to the direction of the voice. Upon reaching the second floor, Cadenza began to look around, quickly taking notice of that girl further down the hallway. She reached out, pointing towards the girl."There..." Winston glanced at where Cadenza was pointing, and nodded, running forward and toward the girl. "Hey, are you okay? We heard screaming and thought it might be you." He told the girl, kneeling by her.
The troubled girl backed up. Her vision wasn't right and the boy looked... wrong. The girl was mangled and bloody. She pushed him back from horror. Her face was beaten up and her clothes were stained by her blood. "I... Who are you?! What am I doing here?!" She winced from the pain. "Please calm down... We are all in the same situation. We woke up in this... place." Winston told her, attempting to console the poor girl.
Cadenza studied the girl feeling as if she met her before this whole situation started. "W-We need to attend to those wounds. You could get an infection and... d-die." Cadenza told the girl, slightly wincing just by looking at her wounds. "Before we treat your wounds, c-can you tell us your name?" Cadenza asked the girl. "I'm... Venice," she told them, avoiding eye contact.
"I'm gonna go ahead and grab what we need in the nurse's office. Cadenza keep her company all right?" Winston went downstairs to grab the needed materials for Venice. "D-Do you remember why you ended up like this?' She tried starting a conversation with her to cool off the tension. Cadenza tried reaching for her arm but she slapped her hand from attempting to do so. "I don't remember at all. Please don't touch me!" She screamed at Cadenza. She flinched from the loudness of her voice. "I need to see how bad your bruises are so that I'll know what I'm dealing with!" Cadenza yelled back, slightly shocked to hear her voice. Before she can even apologize, footsteps were heard indicating that Winston is coming.
"It appears that I have arrived at the wrong time, huh." Winston came back with bandages, alcohol, scissors, and water. "Are you ready, Venice?" Winston asked the troubled girl. She didn't reply but instead took off her t-shirt. Winston blushed and tried to avoid looking below. He handed the materials to Cadenza. First, she cleaned the injuries before putting alcohol. "This... this will sting a bit. Winston give her your belt." Winston immediately unbuckled it from his pants and handed it to Venice. She placed it in her mouth and bit it hard, tightly holding Winston's hand as well.
Cadenza then slowly poured the alcohol on the bruises of her body and arms. "Argh!" Venice groaned from the pain, tears threatening to pour out. Cadenza immediately put bandages to cover her bruised arms. "Th-there's still one more..." Venice breathed heavily. She turned over and showed more bruises on her back but instead it's carved forming a word that says:
MURDERER
Cadenza and Winston looked at each other with fear on their eyes. She continued to treat her back, covering the bruises. After the dilemma, she told Venice to rest up a bit. "Hey... I'm not the only one who saw it right?" Winston whispered to Cadenza. "No... I saw it too. What do you think it meant?" She asked for his opinion. "The word already explained itself! She's gonna kill us before we can even escape!" He exclaimed. "Shh! Keep your voice down, you idiot!" She hit him on the shoulder. "We can't assume the worst. I mean who would carve MURDERER on their own body? That's like pointing out the obvious. This could be another clue!" She told him. "A very bloody clue," Winston commented.
"I'm going to take a quick nap, Winston. Goodnight..." Cadenza laid flat on the cold floor, ignoring the cramp that is starting to form. Before she could close her eyes, she noticed another word that's written in red on the ceiling.
GROUP
She sighed and started to drift to sleep, hoping that this is all a dream. Winston was about to sleep but he heard something from the distance. He didn't want to bother Cadenza so he decided to check it out for himself.
Upon walking through the hallway, he saw a black figure on the far end. The flickering lights are the only source of light here in this school and he didn't know whether that's a person or not.
The flickering lights went off for a moment, showing only pitch black. It was silent. A very deadly silence. He didn't know what to think of it.
The lights are back on again only for a moment.
Then his eyes widened in fear, slowly stepping backward from what he just witnessed.
It's a guy
Hanged to a noose
Dead.
