After sitting in the quiet office for a few minutes has passed and I slightly short middle aged woman with short blonde hair walks in with a drink carrier in her hand, she looks rushed. She hands me, and everyone around me a drink. "Sorry, sorry everyone. I would have been earlier but this asshole wouldn't get out of my way!" she shouts and I quietly chuckle. "Karen! You can't just shout that out!" my grandma whispers almost like a shout. I am full on laughing now as Karen joins me in on the laughter. "Sorry, sometimes I forget where I am and what is appropriate to say in that setting." she says as we are still laughing. Me and Karen exchange stares for a few moments before she speaks up saying, "And you must be the beautiful Allison Rose I always hear so much about?" She says with a warming smile. I nod shyly and smile back at her. "Ali, it's just Ali." She looks at me one more time before sitting down at her desk.
A vibration comes from my phone and I quickly look at it seeing a text from my close friend Sutton.
***Hey girl hey. Your at that office across the street from school right?***
***yeah... Why do you ask?***
***Why do you ask so many questions? Any way. be ready at 7:40 I will be out front and wait no less than thirty seconds!***
***Okay...okay.***
I say still slightly confused.
Before I know it, its 7:40 and I look outside to see Sutton's wavy blonde hair hop out of her mothers car. I rush outside and we begin to walk.
"Could you go any slower?" she scolds me as I begin to pick up my speed.
When we get to the front of the school I hesitate for a second before walking up the steps with Sutton. Once I reach for the handle for the front door, I suddenly feel intimidated, almost frightened. How will this day go? Will I survive?
