"wake up my parents and you're sleeping in the garden," corbyn pointed a warning finger at evy as the two walked up his driveway.

saluting him in a mocking manner, she tried to hold back her laugh eyes as she saw the seriousness radiating off of him.

the teen silently cursed under his breath as he struggled to put the key into the keyhole on the front door, the darkness not helping him in any way.

"need some help?" evy giggled to herself as she watched him from the side, arms crossed over her chest.

looking at her for less than a second, he shook his head, "i've got this."

the girl slipped her phone out of the denim
jacket's pocket and switched on her torch, shining it directly at the keyhole.

almost in an instant, the key slid in and corbyn clearly grunted, turning it and opening the door.

"thank me later," evy winked at him as she walked inside, nodding at him as a thank you for holding the door open for her.

slipping her shoes off, the girl folded her arms behind her back and rocked on her heels, uncertain as to what exactly she was meant to do.

she watched as the teen walked in himself, took off his shoes and placed them neatly near the door, alongside others.

"you can go to my room or something," he shrugged, going back to his normal height, "i
need to do some stuff here first."

the blonde rolled her lips into her mouth and nodded with gently widened eyes, "how am i supposed to know where that is?"

corbyn stopped walking and turned on his heels, already halfway down the hall and towards what seemed to be the kitchen.

"upstairs, third door on the left," he explained, smiling before turning back around.

evy let herself walk up the stairs, keeping an eye on her steps to not trip and fall backwards.

counting down to the third door on the left, she tried to open it as quietly as she could and felt around the wall for some sort of light switch.

when she'd finally found it, she closed the door behind her and flicked it, lightning up the room in a split second.

aware that she wasn't in her own room and probably shouldn't let herself get too comfortable, she walked over to the bed and sat on the edge.

with her hands entwined and resting on top of her legs, the blond looked around the room, examining the things inside.

"i brought some water," corbyn busted through the door startling the girl, still keeping his volume to a minimum, "in case you wanted to drink, or uh, something."

evy nodded wordlessly and took the water bottle he was holding out to her, playing around with it in her hands.

"you're probably tired?" he asked after taking off his jacket and slinging it over the chair at his desk, "it's like one in the morning."

"a bit, i guess," she shrugged, pulling all
of her hair to one side.

"well," the blonde cleared his throat and scratched his head, "you can sleep on the bed,
i'll go like, get myself ready."

the girl smiled at him and waited until
he left the room before pulling off the denim jacket she was still wearing and hanging it up on the hanger stuck on his door.

not too happy about the fact she'd have to skip any sort of hygiene routine, she grimaced but nonetheless knew there was no other way to go about stuff.

unbuttoning her jeans and pulling the zipper down to have more 'freedom', she moved over to the bed and put her head onto the pillow.

scooting herself as close as she could to the wall, her eyes became glued to the white area, the blanket covering her whole body and only leaving her head visible.

after a few minutes, the door of the room
creaked open again, momentarily closing, and footsteps echoed through the room.

"hey," corbyn's whisper was clearly audible as he gently shook evy's shoulder, "you asleep?"

shaking her head against the soft pillow, she twisted her body so that she could lay on her back, "wide awake actually."

"i mean," the boy seemed to stumble over his own thoughts for a moment, "maybe you want something to sleep in?"

the awkward tension between the two stiffened the entire atmosphere to the point where a thrown knife could get stuck right though it.

"if it's not a problem," evy slowly lifted herself and leaned against the headboard, folding her arms in front of her, "i uh, guess."

an arm shot out her way and she thought twice before taking the black material that was being offered to her.

deciding to take it, she motioned with her finger for corbyn to leave the room and got changed into it while he was outside the door.

the material felt weird on her — oddly large
too — though she chose to ignore that, remembering it's only so that her jeans don't end up cutting off her blood circulation during the night.

"you can come in," her voice was loud enough to hear through the door, yet quiet enough to be suitable at the early hours of the morning; especially with other people already sound asleep under the same roof.

once again, she moved herself up against the wall, as far as she could.

due to the distance, the dip in the mattress could almost go by unnoticed, though it most certainly did not.

corbyn used the little remote for his lights on his nightstand to turn them off and shuffled around for a second or two.

"goodnight," the blonde's just about whispered, their timing matching in a way that their words resonated through the room in sync.
