"Why'd you call? Didn't I tell you not to call unless it was an emergency or a major discovery? I don't see either." A man's voice directs attention from a large tarp covered object in the corner of the room.

Several scientists and archaeologists groan softly at his random appearance. The man's brown hair has numerous streaks of gray, while his green eyes sparkle with humor. His gray sweatpants, orange socks, and white sandals contrast greatly with his suit top and black tie.

The oldest looking scientist rolls his eyes and jogs over. His dark skin catches the light briefly. His fully gray hair is pulled back into long dreadlocks, and his brown eyes are filled with excitement.

"It is an important discovery. Mr. Denlock, we have discovered something which proves the existence of creatures much stronger than dinosaurs. In fact, it explains certain mutations we have found in fossils. Those strange looking raptors? The ones on all fours with spines on their backs? They share anatomy with this creature." The scientist gestures for the other man, Mr. Denlock, to walk with him to the tarp.

"More bones Flint? I told you, nothing short of a frozen creature is an emer- By God." Denlock freezes in place, staring at the shape from under the tarp. The archaeologists had pulled the tarp off a moment before.

The 'creature' is trapped in a massive crystal, the likes of which he has never seen. But the creature itself is beautiful. It's glossy white scales cover a long, lithe body. The triangular snout is open slightly, revealing rows of deadly teeth. The spines down it's back are extremely long, and straight, while more ring the base of it's head. The creature's tail is long and ends with a diamond shaped blade. The scales down the front of their neck, underbelly, and tail are shaped like plates from ancient armor. Two long wings, built similar to those of a peregrine falcon, stretch out from it's back, as though it attempted to take off before being trapped in the crystals. The wings are just over twice as long as the creature itself (discounting the tail). But the spikes, claws, belly plates, and teeth of the creature are all crystals, pale silver and always reflecting colors.

"We found it in the Cave of the Oilbirds. The locals have a legend about one such creature. They even have detailed drawings of it. They call her the First. Stormwind is what they said her name is. The white warrior of storms. They say she is why the region east of the Andes is so stormy. They believe the storms were conjured by her to protect them. They say she comes when the world is in danger, and has lived many lives. She is always the same though. Always the white dragon, the white dragon with orange eyes." Flint stares at the creature's eyes, closed to the world.

"Cueva de los Tayos. I knew we would find something there, but such a creature... Break her out. I've heard those legends, and if they're true, she is benevolent. She won't harm us without provocation if they are. But bring in those security guards!"

Flint nods quickly. "You heard him! And be careful, do not touch her scales if you can help it!"

The people in the room rush to grab their tools, eager to be the first to see her scales directly. Unknown to them, the drifting clouds outside darken briefly. The dragon's crystal horns flash orange in response. Or maybe as the cause.

Welcome back! This is one of the Sub-Series of the Chronicles of Myth. This is the White Warrior sub-series, which circles Stormwind the White Dragon instead of Flamefeather. Now, Into the Shadows is not a necessary book to read in order to start this one, but it is recommended in order to get a proper introduction to the world of Aetherea. Please note that all characters are mine, as well as the plot and lore. If you wish to use anything, please PM me so that I can make note of it and start a permissions book. Thank you, young ones.
