In the afternoon of that day, the sun is bright. A cold wind was blowing. McAllen same. My mom and I were packing bags, my dad was Smoking on the balcony, and Liam was sleeping.
This is my last morning in this beautiful city. I don't want to leave my childhood...
"Sophie, go Wake Liam up. Leave soon!
It was my mother calling from the kitchen.
I went to the room where Lee was sleeping. Apparently he was sleeping very soundly.
- Hey, Wake up and sing my sun!
Liam is my best friend. We have been friends since childhood. Only Lee is four years older than me. But this does not prevent us from communicating.
"You'll sleep all day!" Get up!
Liam opened an eye and mumbled:
- Traitor.
I giggled. He calls me that when I either Wake him up or don't give him any Goodies.
That's what he called me today.
"Go on, go on.
I started dragging his leg.
Then dad came into the room.
"Doesn't he want to get up?"
I shook my head.
Dad looked at me, then at Liam. He came up to us and grabbed his other leg.
"Ah!
Liam jumped to his feet.
"Don't do that again. It hurts so bad.
We all laughed together and went into the kitchen.
My mother had already made us Breakfast - coffee and eggs and bacon.
- Sit down quickly, everything is getting cold!
I'm leaving home today. I graduated from high school and went to the University of Texas at Austin to study fine arts. Getting there has been a lifelong dream. And today it comes true.
My mother is very worried. We were never apart for a long time. And here I have to leave for 3 months in another city. But my mother is happy, and I'm glad. I'll miss you, miss everyone.
Everyone supported me at Breakfast. They said everything would be fine and I believed them.
It's time to leave, so as not to be late for check-in at the hostel.
Liam and dad were moving my things to the car. My mother is almost crying with happiness and longing at the same time.
- Be a good girl, I love you!"I'm sorry," she says sadly.
"I love you, too."
I say goodbye to everyone and get in the car. She starts driving. I feel very sad. I won't see them for 3 months. But we can talk on Face time. I will miss them very much.
There is about 5 hours of driving ahead and I decided to take a NAP. Well, what? Bye, In McAllen!
