It didn't take long to arrange a meeting with the headmaster of Hogwarts when 1. Your boyfriend's name is Harry Potter and 2. The headmaster is McGonagall, who definitely never plays favourites but definitely has a soft spot, that she tries to hide, for Harry.
The last month of summer was filled with preparing for the new school year once Harry had secured the position, luckily it was only being temporarily filled by someone who didn't really want it. Not to mention Harry having experience as an Auror and being able to list "saving the Wizarding world" on his resume were pretty helpful.
You picked out textbooks together, wrote out your lesson plans, did some planning regarding classroom decoration and organization and made one important decision.
The students were not going to know that you and Harry were more than just coworkers and friends. There were many reasons this was beneficial, partly because you liked having your private life to yourselves, because you enjoyed being viewed as your own person especially at the start of your teaching career, and you didn't want to be questioned or bothered about your relationship.
This was easy, sort of, to accomplish on both of your parts. The part of Hogwarts where the professors lived was prohibited from all students, so unless there is another "Harry Potter type student" looking to bend the rules then you shouldn't have to worry about explaining why you were seen leaving Professor Potters' chambers.
Also, the fact that you and Harry weren't married, yet, and that you had different last names helped a lot. It wasn't something you would adamantly lie about and go out of your way to hide, but it would be something you wouldn't mention openly, or at least for as long as you could.

In ways the last month with him was everything you could have hoped for, he didn't work as an Auror anymore so he was home with you every day.
You were in no way used to him being home so much, but you would never complain. As much as he needed a vacation from work he also was the type to hate having idle time, he paced the apartment when he couldn't sleep in and focused on things like making you breakfast and perfecting his lesson plans.
You woke up to a stream of light peeking through the curtains, it was still early in the morning, a cool breeze blew in from the cracked window. You squeezed your eyes shut and turned to where Harry should be but he's gone, the side of his bed cold which tells you he has been awake for some time. You take a moment to let your brain adjust to being awake, trying to smell if he's making breakfast but you smell nothing but the lavender off your clean sheets.
You hide your face in your pillow before getting up, it's hard not to worry about him, from the moment you first saw him, before you even really knew him you worried about him. Life for him was unfair and challenging and he was never one to turn down a challenge, even if the challenge of the day was enjoying his time off before he started his new job.
You slipped your socks on to protect your feet from the cold floor and tiptoe across the room, opening the old bedroom door with a loud creak but harry doesn't turn to face you from where he's sat on the couch.
There is no tv on in the small living room, no quiet radio static in the background. The curtains are all pulled open but the lights are left off. He sits on the couch looking the least bit comfortable as he sits on the edge, his back arched forward as he leans his elbows on his thighs, supporting his face in his hands. His eyes are closed but he's awake, he doesn't open them when he senses you near.
