i wake up to birds chirping from the tree beside my window, i blink a few times in an attempt to wake myself up some more, i yawn and stretch, yknow, the routine of every human being waking up.

The smell of waffles and bacon is what really gets me up though, i begin making my way down into the kitchen.

"hey eddie-bear, how was your sleep? did you take your medicine?" mama asks

"i slept okay and i'm on it ma." i reply making my way over to the medicine cabinet.

i take my daily 4 pills and sit down at the table, where my waffles and cut up fruit wait, i dig in only to be lectured by my mother.

"slow down eddie! you could choke!" mama yells

"sorry mommy." i mutter

after i'm finished eating i decide on showering and getting ready for my day of exploring. i walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth, followed by me quickly undressing and stepping under the warm water.

after i get out and dry off i choose to wear light blue jeans, rolled at the cuff because of my height of course, a soft pink sweater and my all white converse, i try my best to tame my curly hair but it's got a mind of its own.

i walk down the stairs and into the living room where mama sits on the lazyboy watching T.v.

"i'm going to explore ma, I won't be out late, i love you."

"okay, be safe my eddie-kins" she replies

and with that i'm out the door, quietly shutting it behind me.

"holy shit, guys look." beverly says, looking out the window.

"at what." stan says just as uninterested everyone else is.

"the neighbor!" she exclaims

now that's what gets everyone jumping up and racing to the window anxious to see who bev was talking about. we all look out and see a small curly haired boy wearing pink, shutting his front door.

"awe!! look how cute he is!" bev smiles

"huh, he looks kinda young." i say

"we don't know anything yet rich." stan replies

"he looks so sma-"

just as i start that sentence, his head turns in our direction, i make eye contact with the boy and he furrows his brows, we all immediately duck and stay down wide eyed.

"what the fuck, way to make a first impression." stan mutters

"oh yeah 'hi i was with the group of stalkers watching you from the window wanna be friends?' sounds so inviting."

"beep beep richie, maybe he didn't see us" bev says

"yeah, no we made eye contact! he definitely saw us."

"do you think he's gone?" mike asks

"yeah he p-probably went running for his life after s-seeing us." bill laughs

       after the group of strangers leave the window in a hurry, i decide to shake it off, they were probably just curious, i mean i am new here after all. i continue walking down the sidewalk.

       the weather is fairly nice today, sunny with a nice breeze. i walk into the town and pass by a school. derry high school, i guess this is where i'll be attending when summer ends. it looks okay, kinda dull though, it needs flowers, that would make it look 100x better.

       i continue walking and find myself at a small park, with a swing set and a play structure, i smile at the kids on the swings being pushed by their mothers and laughing. i wish my mom wasn't so protective, i don't mind but i just wish i could have more fun. i spot a small pathway on the other side of the park.

       i don't know if i should go, i mean my allergies could act up and- oh who am i kidding, i'll just be careful. i start walking down the path into a forest and take a deep breath, it's so nice here, i continue walking until i hit a cliff, i make my way towards the edge and look down, at the green-ish water.

       i smile and decide to walk back to the park and maybe look around some more.

"you guys are fucking slow" i say

"oh shut it rich." bev mumbles

       The losers and I decided to go to the quarry half an hour after spotting the boy, we continue to walk through the park to get to the familiar path. i walk behind Stan and start to let my mind wander, just as we're about to get there Stan makes a sharp stop causing me to walk into him.

"what the fuck Stanley! a warning would have been ni-" i begin

"um h-hi" i hear an unfamiliar voice say.

       i push my way passed Stan to see the same boy we'd been watching from bills window. shit.
