Rayne's Pov

By the time I manage to wake up again it's already well past noon. I feel hung over as hell though, without the lucky of even drinking a single drop of alcohol. All last night I'd had nightmares of earlier. It was ridiculous.

Tossing my feet over the side of the bed I felt the cold leeching up through the souls of my feet. I don't even know how to feel anymore. Every time I shut my eyes I could see the horrifying images of yesterday. So much for all of that fucking sword training. A lot of good that did me.

The door opens and Sam comes through. She has a tray in her hands filled with food. "Oh, you're up. That's good, if I'd known then I would've helped you to get to the galley to have breakfast with everyone else."

"It's... fine. I don't really want... to be around everyone else..."

Sam settles the tray down on my bedside table, "Rayne, what's going on inside of your head? I mean I know you must be in shock after yesterday but... I figured you'd at least want to see someone from your crew."

"No, after the embarrassment that happened yesterday I can't even think about facing them."

"Well... you might want to revise that statement..." Sam says, looking away from me.

"What?"

"It's Oz. They're not sure if he's going to make it or not. Fucking Hunter did a number on his inner organs."

"What about Law? Isn't he trying to do anything?"

Sam's gaze darkens, "Don't you dare even think that he isn't! Oz is the last remaning part of Trafalgar's family! Trafalgar will do anything to try and save him."

"I-I'm sorry."

"Either way it might not be something that he can fix... Hunter screwed up the man's organs really badly. So far it's hard to stop all of the bleeding."

I sit there staring at the floor taking in all of the information. I'm really not sure if I can even comprehend all of this. First Vein flips shit and is gone, Oz's life is hanging on the edge, and I can't even do a damn thing.

How pathetic.

Sam nudges me back into reality. I blink at her. When I go to open my mouth to talk to her the door busts open. A familiar red blur jumps straight into my lap and starts to wail and cry. Ace isn't far off as he runs into the room trying to catch his hellian son.

"Ace! Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on Kai?" Sam growls.

"Hey, he takes after you in the escape artist department. One moment we're playing on the deck and then the next I'm seeing him disappearing below deck on the submarine here."

"...Right... So you're telling me our son... our four year old son... managed to outsmart you? Are you sure that Luffy is the dumb one between the three of you?"

"Th-that's out of line! The kid is just sneaky!"

"Uh huh."

At this point I'm trying to pry their son off of me. As adorable as the little pervert is, I'm not in the mood to deal with him. He's holding tight though. In fact he's actually gripping my shirt so tight that I'm afraid he's going to go and rip it. I have go down and pry his hands off one by one. He's not happy about it either. Kai's dark eyes fill with unshed tears and I feel guilty for making him unhappy.

Luckily Ace comes over and takes his son from my hands. "C'mon you can't bother her any more. Mama is taking care of her."

"Nooooo! Wanna care too!"
