September 20th at 2:45 in the morning. Samantha Maine, wife to well known actor James Maine, went into labor with their first newborn child. After nearly giving up after the second miscarriage, Samantha was truly grateful for the baby to live through the full nine months of her pregnancy.
But when she gave birth, is what made her think differently.
Their first daughter, who they named Mya, has cyan blue hair and cyan colored eyes.
Mya shared nothing similar to Samantha and James.
James has navy blue hair with azure blue colored eyes while Samantha has dark purple hair and violet colored eyes.
So, what gene gave Mya different colored hair and eyes?
No one knows.
"Is this what I get after two miscarriages? A devil's daughter?"
The doctors and the nurses in the room where surprised at the solemn tone in her voice. Usually patients who had just given birth would be proud to have a baby, with or without the same genetics as their parents.
So to see that she was displeased with the appearance of her newborn child, was honestly a shock.
"This thing is not my daughter!"
"M-Mrs. Maine, we understand that your upset-"
"Upset?! I'm not upset, I'm pissed off! You're telling me that this thing just came out of my womb when it doesn't share any of the genes as me or my husband!"
"M-Maybe when she gets older she'll show more...um...similar genes as you and your husband. It's too early to say anything."
"So, you're saying to keep this thing? And wait until she gets older? Tch, if she doesn't show similar genes to us now what makes you think that she will when she gets older?"
"As I just said, Mrs. Maine, it's too early to say anything about similar and different genetics between the parents and the offspring. When she gets older, then you'll notice the differences or similarities between the genetics."
Samantha thought about it and after a couple days after giving birth, her and her days old newborn daughter Mya were discharged from the hospital.
And not two days after the Maines' discharge from the hospital, was there rumor of Samantha Maine finally giving birth all over the country.
Not once did Samantha nor James ever speak in Mya's presence. They only spoke in the morning when they wake from their sleep and at night when they're going to bed. They knew that if they didn't speak around Mya, that Mya would grow up not knowing how to speak which will lead her to never being spoken to by anyone.
Well, that's what they thought.
One day, Samantha made the risky decision of bringing Mya to work, since she didn't want a nanny or a babysitter to watch over Mya and give her the chance of knowing how to speak. But bringing her to work, wouldn't have made it any better.
Always being in the spotlight. Always having someone talking to her. Always people telling her what to do. Samantha couldn't come up with the right decision to make Mya grow up a mute.
Bringing her to work that day, was the worst decision that she could ever think of was her opinion. Because not only did it give Mya a high chance of not growing up a mute, it also gives her a higher chance of becoming famous when she grew up.
When Mya turned six months, she called out to Samantha with a small "mama" being heard. Samantha immediately knew that her plan for Mya to grow up a mute went down the drain. She knew for sure, that when Mya grew up, she would become the most annoying child that they've ever met. Wanting to be spoken to. Wanting to be played with. Wanting all these things that Samantha doesn't want her to be happy with.
So on November 10th at 6:50 in the morning, Samantha had given birth to another daughter named Mia. Only this time, Samantha adored her second daughter because of the immediate gene similarities. Mia shared Samantha's hair color while she had James' eye color.
And with Mya only being two years old, she was still oblivious to the hatred that was being given to her by her parents.
And no sooner came the abuse.
