It's been 7 months since you and Liam broke up. He broke up with you, and you still can't figure out why. You've moved on physically, but your heart still held on to him. According to the magazines, Liam has moved on as well, physically and emotionally.
Tonight is your best friends birthday. She's throwing a party in a fancy hall downtown. It's a mixed party, boys and girls, and everyone is going with dates. You're going with your friend, Matty. Nothing more than friends though, and he knows that. The only problem is, your best friend is a huge directioner. Her parents booked One Direction to preform at her birthday.
"Just ignore him, you're with Matt now anyways" Ally says.
"No. I'm not with Matt. We're friends, I'm not dating him."
"Whatever, we have to get ready! The party starts at 6 and we have to get there early, before everyone else."
You straighten your hair and do your makeup. A bit a cover up, eye liner, and mascara will do it. Then you put on your dress. Ally is wearing a red, long, shoulder dress. She looks absolutely stunning. Your dress is a knee length, white dress with little diamonds, long sleeve and a crochet pattern at the back. Heals are too much, so you just put on a pair of black flats. You're ready to go.
You arrive at the hall at 4:30 and start preparing. The tables are decorated with flowers and there's a section set up for the performances. You take off your shoes and grab a microphone. You throw the other microphone to Ally and start playing Jesse McCartney off your phone. You two start singing and goofing around. When the song stops, you put the microphones back and turn around to see that Liam and the other boys have been standing in the doorway.
"Encore, encore!" The boys shout from the doorway. You smile and bow with Ally.
"Just pretend you've moved on, you'll make it through tonight. I promise" Ally whispered to me during the bow. I smiled at her to say thanks.
"I've got to continue setting up tables, we'll catch up later, okay?" You smile at the boys, and they nod in response. You never once looked at Liam, but you could feel his eyes on you. It was 5:45 when Matt arrived.
"Matty!" You scream as he entered the room. You ran and gave him a hug. "Finally someone else to help out around here!" He gave you a puzzling look and you turned to point at Ally, who was sitting in a chair, "testing" the food. Matt helped you set up the rest of the chairs and tables just in time. The whole time, you could feel Liam staring at you, but you couldn't figure out why.
"He's moved on" you thought to yourself.
By the time it was 6, everyone was already outside waiting. They were all excited to see One Direction preform. Ally, her boyfriend, you, and Matt all sat at a table in the centre of the room. Everyone else took their seats and waited for the music to start. They started off by making jokes and introducing themselves. The first song was Live While We're Young. Ally and her boyfriend got up and danced, and everyone soon joined them. You and Matt stayed sitting and watched. They sang a couple more up beat songs before they slowed it down. Moments started playing.
"Would you like to dance?" Matt asked you.
You smiled. "Sure."
You and Matt were having a great time dancing. You laughed so much that you lost track of time and didn't even realize when the song stopped and a new one began. Liam starting singing his part of I Wish when you noticed a silver chain around his wrist. It looked so familiar. You looked at your wirst and realized it looked just like the one you were wearing. That's when you remembered Liam buying matching bracelets when he was in Italy, "forever yours" inscribed on the back. Liam must have noticed you staring because he shifted his attention to you. He didn't take his eyes off you the entire time. It wasn't until the end of the song that you noticed you were crying. You thanked Matt and ran off the dance floor.
"(Y/N)!" You heard Matt scream behind you.
"I'll handle this." You heard Liam say, as his foot steps got louder and closer. Once you were far enough from the party, you stop running and turned around.
"(Y/N)...." He breathed.
"No." You say, "you don't get to do this. You don't get to follow me and try to make me feel better. Maybe you've moved on, Liam, but I haven't. I'm still in love with you, and you could care less. You don't get to sing to me, you don't get to comfort me, and you definitely don't get to wear that bracelet when you know what it means to me. You knew I was going to be here, you don't get to do this to me!" You screamed at him. You started crying even harder.
"(Y/N) please listen I came here to-". You cut him off.
"No Liam. I'm done. I'm so tired of-". He crashed his lips on yours and slid one arm around your waist, and the other held your face. You gave in and kissed him back, wrapping both arms around his neck. Both of his arms were now around your waist, pulling you as close to him as possible. He pulled back and rested his forehead on yours.
"I love you" he whispered, "I haven't stopped thinking about you. For 7 months I wanted to tell you this, but I thought you've moved on. Everyday I've worn this bracelet and haven't taken it off. I promise I'll never hurt you again. Please, (Y/N), be mine." You could see the tears start to form in his eyes.
"I love you too, Liam."
He smiled, knowing that with your response, you were his again. He kissed you one more time before taking your hand and pulling you back onto the dance floor.
