At least he's alive

America's POV

I just stood there looking at Canada and Russia, how the hell did he even become a cat? Questions after questions piled in my mind, I was just in a daze. Either this is a prank or I'm dreaming but... would that be worse? I mean, I've just found out yesterday that Russia, the person I loved, died and no one bothered to tell me, and now I've been told he is alive as a goddamn cat! Eventually I was knocked out of my daze by Canada, he said something but it was just muffled noise. I was brought back into reality but not really? Whatever, eventually I talked. "Should we tell someone?" Canada thought for a minute, talking after. "Maybe the Japan twins? Akiba might know what to do. We should tell Ukraine and Belarus aswell, they have a right to know." I nodded, "What are we waiting for? Let's tell the siblings then the twins!"I grabbed his car keys and started to the front door. Canada stopped me and looked at me with the 'You need to chill' face and grabbed his keys from me after putting the cat on my shoulder. He went out to his car, I don't have one, I've got a motorcycle but it won't fit a goddamned GIANT on it so we just take his car. I got in the passenger side of the car, Canada getting in the drivers side and started to drive Belarus and Ukraine's house. We didn't really talk but listened to music instead, I sang along with most of the songs, Canada just listened and had a smile on his face.

Russia's POV

I gotta say, America has a really good singing voice. It's... mesmerizing in a way. I just listen to it and think about what he said earlier, "I- I think I had feelings for Russia."  Does he still like me? He said had so I don't think so, I'll ask him if I ever get back to normal. Eventually we get to my old house, all three of us get out of the car, heading to the front door. America knocks and Ukraine gets the door, "Yes? Why are you back here?" Canada quickly speaks, "Well Ukraine, we found out something pretty intresti-" America cuts him off, "Russia's a cat now!" He seems a bit panicked, that's kind of unusual, especially for him. He was always so quirky and impatient, chill and jumpy, immature and really dumb, what was so appealing about him!? But it's still odd, did something happen while I was gone? Come to think of it, America seemed off back when me and my cat family were still together, he seemed jumpy. When I swiped at him, he jumped, more than usual. Ukraine let us in when he said that, Belarus giving America a quick hug and immediately starts questioning him about it. He started getting overwhelmed because of it, Canada sat him down on the couch and answered the questions for him. I went over to America and sat on his lap, he petted me yet I didn't mind. It actually feels pretty good so I purred, he seems tired and overworked... how much did I miss? Canada talked about telling the Japan twins, both Ukraine and Belarus hesitated before agreeing, and I can't blame them. They kept it a secret for this long and now people wanna tell others. "We're coming with you, okay?" Belarus said, she seemed concerned. Eventually, we all went to Canada's car and got in, driving to the Japan twin's house.

Timeskip~

America's POV

We got to the twin's house, I was the first out of the car, following Belarus, Ukraine, and Canada. We knocked on the door and Akiba answered the door almost immediately, giving me the biggest bear hug ever. She let us in and, "Akiba, did you invite your friends?" Japan asked, coming out of the kitchen with some tea, giving Akiba some aswell, greeting us too. "No, they came on there own. Speaking of which, why ARE you here?" "Well, we thought you could help us." I state, Japan spoke up. "With what America-san?" I explain everything and Akiba speaks up, "Of course we'll help you and Russia-sama! Me and my brother make potions! Maybe one of those with work!" "That how you got your cat ears an tail?" Ukraine jokes. "Yes, actually." Japan speaks before Akiba can. Akiba gets up and runs of and comes back handing me a elixir, "Give it to Russia-sama, it might fix him." I do so and Russia drinks it, jumping out of my lap and he starts to change shape. Soon enough it's Russia but Japan quickly gives him a towel and Russia wraps it around his waist, covering his lower area. "Hey, so, I'm alive?" He says, Belarus jumps up and hugs him, stating how much she missed him and how they love him so much. He has animal features like Akiba but keeping his blue ears and tail from being a Russian blue cat. I get a call on my phone and excuse myself, heading outside and answering the phone. It's my kids, Mexico's watching them for me while I visit my family. "Hey guys! How's your break from you dad going?" I joke, "Really well! We wanted to call you but you didn't answer the first few times so we thought something had happened!" Florida states. "Nah, just tired from the trip. I was able to talk to Russia again though!" "Oooooo~ Dad's talking to his boyfriend!~" D.C. cooed, my face turned red. "He's not my boyfriend! How's Mexico doing?" I sighed, my kids can be troublesome but I love them. "Hola America! Your kids are being troublesome, I don't know how you deal with them haha! Tell Canada I said hola for me, yeah?" Mexico says, I ship it. I've been around Akiba to much, I'm becoming a shipper. "Will do! I gotta go kids, don't give Mexico too much trouble, prank him for me, and wear your seat belts. Bye guys, love you!" They say bye and I hang up, heading inside. "Hey Maple! Mexico says hola!" His face turns a small shade of pink and nods, Akiba sees and elbows me. I nod and we share a laugh, "What was that about America-san?" Japan asks. "My kids called me, said Russia was my boyfriend again. The usual. I think they hang out with Akiba too much, she's making them shippers too hahaha!" I joke, we all laugh and enjoy the rest of the day, Japan had spare clothes for Russia, he's prepared for this stuff apparently. "Hey Meri?" Russia spoke and I responded. "Yeah?" "Thanks for taking care of me, though I would have rather had Belarus do that." He jokes and cracks a smile, haven't seen those from him in a while. "Course, what else should I have done?" We laugh, god I missed him. At least he's alive.
