She looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes. Her smile hiding from behind the white comforter. A small giggle escaped those kissable lips of hers causing a small grin to spread across my own. I reached a hand out and gently tucked a strand of dark blonde hair behind her ear. Her head turned and she kissed the palm of my hand before she looked back at me, her cheek pressed into my palm.
"You're so beautiful," I said resting my hand on the side of her face.
I could see the smile in her eyes as she hid her face into her pillow and something muffled was mumbled into the pillow. She probably gave me an eye roll and said something snarky back, but I didn't care. I rolled onto my back and she popped her head up slightly, her blue eyes looking at me suspiciously. The sound of ruffled sheets tickled my ears for a short second. And then again as she slowly moved closer to me. Her arm flung across my stomach and her body pressed into my side.
"Ashtonnnn," she whined, her forehead pressing into my shoulder.
"Coraaaah," I mimicked causing another small giggle from her.
"I'm hungryyyyyy," she whined again, picking her head up and laying it farther on to my shoulder.
"Okay, and?"
"Can we make French toast?"
"We don't have any eggs."
"Ughhhh!" She paused. "We can make it without eggs."
My eyes rolled and I sighed. "Okay, we can make some French toast."
I started to sit up. Cora's arm wrapped tighter around my stomach, holding me back on the bed.
"Nooooo," she whimpered, flinging her leg over top of mine and wrapping it around it. "You're warm."
"Do you want something to eat or not," I asked, looking down at the most beautiful girl in the world.
She whined and let go of me. I got out of bed and pulled on a crumbled pair of boxers. She huffed and rolled over, refusing to get out of bed. I bent over laying a quick, soft peck on her lips. Cora smiled softly to herself and hugged the comforter to her chest. I wasn't expecting her to help. I wasn't really expecting her to be able to walk either. Turning, I stooped to pick up a t-shirt from the ground. I pulled it over my head as I walked towards the door.
"Hey, Ash?" Her voice was quiet and soft. Almost like an angel was speaking. I turned to look at her. "I love you."
My eyes flutter open. I could feel them stinging. A hand touches my face and rubbed down it. I blink, staring up at the ceiling trying to focus on reality. Pots and pans bang together somewhere in the apartment. Probably in the kitchen. But who was here? I sit up, holding my pounding head. The light was too loud as it filters in through the crack in my curtains. My shoulders hunch and I yawn the smell of bacon filling my nose.
"Hello," I ask groggily. Whoever was in the kitchen didn't hear me. "Hello?" I call again, louder this time.
After a few seconds I hear feet on the wooden floor making their way towards the door. A blond haired male sticks his head in the doorway before his shoulders and the rest of his body became visible. It's Luke. He gives me a small smile, his eyes silently singing pity. I choose to ignore the look.
"Hey," he says in a half cheerful tone. "How are you feeling?"
He holds a coffee cup in his hands. Luke crosses the room to the bed in a few strides and extends the cup to me. I take it in my hands, curling my fingers through the handle. My eyes fixate in the brown liquid for a few moments before returning to his face.
