❝𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭?❞

sprawled out on the couch is a teenage girl by the name of (y/n) (l/n) who is somehow managing to breathe under the four blankets she has wrapped around her small frame. the only thing visible is the single hand stretched out towards her tv as she clicks threw the infinite channels. failing to find a decent channel the girl unravels herself and slumps into the soft material of the couch, pouting she looks around her small apartment she has been living in for the past 6 months. her apartment consists of a lounge room connected to a small table and chairs she calls her dining room, behind the table is the kitchen. a hall way that connects the lounge room to the bathroom and her bedroom. her room is very minimalistic; a single bed pushed to the right corner of the room under a large window, a desk opposite of the bed is tidy and decorated with plants.

walking to her wardrobe she lazily slides on her purple hoody and black skirt, grabbing her house keys, money and tying the warn out shoe laces on her white sneakers. jogging down the concrete stairs of her apartment building she turns left on the footpath.

"she's finally out of the house!" turning to the sound of the voice is the friendly landlord. looking down at the smiling face of an old lady she quickly returns the smile.

"haha yeah just going to go to the convenience store to pick up some snacks," (y/n) blushes and rubs the back of her neck out of embarrassment. saying a quick goodbye to the old lady she continues down the road. shaking away her blush she returns to frowning as she notices the familiar looking ghosts that hang around her neighbourhood. you see if you didn't know, (y/n) has the ability to see ghosts, at first she was absolutely terrified when her younger self first discovered her quirk but over time just accepted it as an everyday thing.

the automatic doors of the store let out a "ding" signifying another customer, picking up a basket she glides through the isles, occasionally stopping to throw in chips and chocolates. last thing she needed to get was strawberries, which has been her favourite food. making her way to the fruit section she notices a two boys, one with spiky blonde hair and the other with spiky red hair. not thinking much about it she grabs a couple of packets of strawberries and places them carefully in her basket. now having everything she needs, she turns a corner to go to the checkout but instead comes face to face with a hard chest, the weak collision forcing her petite body to collapse on the floor.

"im so sorry, are you alright?" a voice calls out from above her as a large hand is extended downwards.

"i-its okay, im fine," she gets her thoughts together and grabs the hand, pulling herself to her feet, now being face to face with the same red head boy she saw before and with the blonde boy looking like he's going to explode with rage at the slightest sound. ripping her eyes off the blonde who had his arms crossed and head turned to the side with a scowl, she focuses on the red head in front of her blurting apologies and asking if she was hurt. bending down to pick up the few items she had into the red basket she quickly excuses herself and lines up at checkout.

after paying for her food and taking a few seconds to collect her thoughts after embarrassing herself in front of two teenage boys she strolls down the same pathway towards her home. glancing up at the sky she notices the the sun setting, casting a golden tint across the sky. clutching her keys she unlocks her front door and places the bag on the kitchen bench emptying out the products and storing them either in the fridge or pantry. sighing, she decides to skip dinner and go to bed early to try and catch up on sleep that she hasn't gotten in two whole days.

shuffling down the hall into the bathroom she flicks on the light and stares at the unattractive person in the mirror. her dull hair is messy and left down and the bags under her eyes are visible to everyone. not bothering to do her entire facial routine she splashes water on her face and lazily grabs her toothbrush and toothpaste to brush her teeth. her motivation levels are low as she lacks the energy to get dressed into her pyjamas and lays in her comforting bed. her favourite place has always been her room; it makes her feel safe and comfortable.

laying on her back as she gazes at her ceiling illuminated by the beams of light coming from the moon her thoughts wonder to the harsh reality that her first day of school is only a sleep away. tomorrow is the day she has been dreading for many reasons. firstly she was home schooled her whole life, living in an orphanage at the time she never developed the skills to make friends, in fact she's never had one.

the memories from the orphanage was the last thing on her mind before slumber completely took over her and the suspense of tomorrow longing to arrive.
