4. My Mate's Bitter Past

Hey Guys! I am sorry I haven't posted in a while a lot has been happening recently. I hope this extra long chapter makes up for not posting for a while. Also the ending is a bit mature I tried writing different then my usual style comment and let me know how it was~~

No!cried Rae through our mind-link knowing that Xavier and his wolf could hear her cry of pain all I could do was close my eyes. I could feel my entire body trembling under Xavier's body as his gaze never left mine. Suddenly, I felt warm wet tears seep from the corner of my eyes rolling down my cheeks and onto the blanket as I was trying to calm myself and Rae down. I inhaled a few deep breaths giving myself a few moments to collect myself and wondered how I was even going to explain all of this, if I could that is. Rae was utterly restless she was grasping for air as if she had the wind knocked out of her and she was struggling to come to terms with the fact we had been marked.

"Rae..." I whispered softly, opening my eyes I looked up at Xavier his eyes reflecting worry and pain in them. He could feel the emotions running through my head and the trembles coming from my body. We were mated, bonded and we were connected not fully but connected, nevertheless. "It is done we are marked. There is no taking it back, there is no changing it, we belong to Xavier and Grayson, Rae and the sooner you accept that the easier this will be for you."

"What the fuck is going on Athena, I want answers because Grayson can sense Rae's pain and it is not pleasant." Questioned Xavier looking down at me his eyes changing colors briefly. "Why did you suddenly ask me to mark you? I know you are well aware that under the circumstances of what just happened we are not fully mated yet, correct? Why did you consent to getting marked against your wolf's wishes?"

Rae had already disappeared into silence, she was going to let me handle this, she knew that my answer was a bunch of crap. Actually, truth be told I didn't have an answer, or the one I did have wasn't going to please him. I gasped suddenly as I felt his lips press against my shoulder as he unbuttoned my slacks pulling the shirt that was neatly tucked inside of them. His warm hand slipped up my stomach tracing his fingers along my navel towards my ribs. I looked up at Xavier seeing the slight shift in his eyes color, he was upset because what I just asked him to do and the thoughts running through my head, he was well aware I didn't know how to answer him.

"Xavier please stop, you don't want this with me right now. I can feel your confusion and pain stop please!" I growled trying to grab his wrists.

"Then tell me why the hell do you did it? Clearly your wolf was against the idea, yet you still fucking asked me to mark you knowing that in the state I am right now there was no way to deny you that!" he below, easily gripping my wrists pinning them into the bed again looking down at me with the anger blazing in his eyes.

"Because I don't want to run and disappear again! If you didn't mark Rae even if it is against her will she will run! She will run so far that you will never find her again or me! Rae doesn't want to be bound to anyone or anything even if you are her mate she will struggle, she will kick, scream and cry, begging you to let her go."

"Why the hell would she want that? The she wolf should know that when wolves mate, they mate for life, there is no one else, there is no leaving, there is no divorce and maybe they might do something stupid to hurt her feelings but never intentional."

"Because she is hurting, and she is broken. She never recovered from our last relationship she began to imprint on the last person we were with. She hoped that he would come back and become her mate, she just ..." I trailed off turning my head away feeling the heat surging through my body, fuck what a time to go into heat.
