It was dark in the streets of Asalorn, the sun had once been a blend of fiery oranges, dark red rubies the most golden yellows, but now it left not a mere flicker of light. Old houses outlined the street, the windows covered and lights dimmed. This did not bother one Isalaeya Glysanthros.
Her long golden locks once hung like the finest silk, her eyes crystal blue orbs, with long fanning eyelashes. Her skin once soft as falling snow. She was once beautiful, before the tragic end of House Velacor.
She ran quickly through the mazes of houses, she was reaching the Inner City now, from there the glistening palace of Esalora was visible, the moonlight shone through the clouds enflaminf the palace with a silvery hue. But that was not why she was here today. Instead she made her way up the walls of one of the city houses, it's bricks smooth like satin, intricately carved pillars and brightly coloured roofs, although at night they were not visible.
She dropped swiftly onto one of the balconies, the window was of shining, stained glass it's velvet, luxurious curtains drawn shut. Quietly, she picked the lock on the sliding window door, it opened without too much of a hassle. The room was long hallway exquisitely decorated, huge mosaics hung on the painted walls, statues of glimmering marble, the floor polished like a shining diamond. She walked silently up to end of the large corridor, and carefully removed the glass case of the large gemstone on display.
It was about the size of her palm, slowly she moved her hand to capture the gem.
Loud alarms went off, the ringing deafening her ears.
She ran. Gem clasped in her hand, her mane of hair flowing like a waterfall behind her back, she stood on the balcony, the cool summer air welcoming her. She glanced back as the ornate door opened. Men in armour stood yelling over the ringing of the alarm, they were wearing armour of some sort, swords held in their hands, running towards her.
