It was late in the evening and it was very cloudy. The cold wind blows our hair away as we look at the forest at the back of a pick-up truck.
The temperature was below 20°C, but it wasn't as cold as we thought it would be. Nevertheless the thick jackets helped us warm up.
We stopped by a gas station with a cafè right beside it. The cafè itself was made from solid timber, the door was a single push/pull door made out of stainless steel and and tinted glass.
The inside had little round coffe tables, mats instead of chairs, and a fire place in the middle. Right by the door was the counter, the menu offers most coffee and tea beverages whether it be iced or hot, but the one thing that stood out was the garlic-mushroom soup.
Above the door frame was a bird cage with no birds in it, I guess it's just there for aesthetic purposes? We went inside along with a few of our friends, they sat down while we take a look at the menu.
The barista finally showed up. So he doesn't drink his own coffee, the irony. He took our orders, we pay for what we bought and we were off.
As we got out of the cafè, we saw our driver look through the engine of the car. He said that it over heated and it'll take a few mintues to cool down. I was a bit confused with what happened though, engines still over heat in this temperature? The rest of the group went back to the cafè, but you stayed outside. I followed after you but you suddenly stopped walking and looked to the sky.
It's snowing.
It was the first time you've ever witnessed real snow, so you were flabbergasted by the scenery, but I only had my eyes on you.
The snow fell down gently while the wind blew on us carefully, as if it knows how fragile you are. Only lit up by the yellow street light, the redness of your nose became more prominent, the indigo streaks on your hair looked heavenly. I felt like I had just died and this was God teasing from heaven.
You looked back as the wind chimes rang, the universe is playing with my emotions again.
Without even thinking, I walked towards you. I had no control over myself anymore, this was all you.
After walking a few feet, I finally got to you. The star I've so longley reached out to, now in front of me, but I was frozen.I don't know what to say, I had no reason to be here. Then my body just took over again.
I got too close to the sun. I got too close to you.
"I'm always with you.." you said "..always."
It's been 4 years since you left.
I miss you.
