I sat at my desk looking through logs of sights of assassin activity. A soft knock came from the door and I perked up.  "You may enter" I spoke as the doorknob turned.  Christoper Gist entered with a wide smile.  "what might it be this time gist" I leaned back folding my arms ready for what crazed proposition he was about to give.

"I know you are busy Grandmaster but, Today is Shay's birthday and-" I raised my hand to signal him to stop.  I stood up and glared.  "do not tell me you plan to do something to blow our cover" I saw Gist tense up and immediately got nervous.

"No no no! Of course not grandmaster! It's a surprise for Shay.  A simple on the house drinking" He spoke defending himself.  "we were just wondering if you would grace us with your presence there"

It was clear that Gist was trying to sweet talk me into going.  Making me sound like a king.  It's amusing to watch him try.  Now that I think of it,  I have been quite busy.  "hmm...  Also as the bar is not near the popular spots in New York we may go"

I watched as gist face lit up and nodded "thank you, grandmaster.  We leave later this evening.  Jack will get you"  Gist took off out the door I just watched him leave.

Going back to the work in front of me and drifted on to the thought shay work performance.  He has done an exceptional job at dealing with the gangs in New York.  As well as assisting us in taking down Achilles Brotherhood.  He does deserve somewhat of a reward.  I started to think more and more on the new Templar. Isn't he Irish? He does have a thick accent... Hmmm.  This night might be a long one.  I felt a small chuckle escape from my lips.  The thought of the men all drinking and not planning to kill someone was quite pleasing. It will be a simple,  casual night out.

Time passes by and I complete the new assignment for Shay,  dealing with the female assassin hope.  I should help locate some better information.  Just to let Shay have an easier time with this one. I stood from my desk and made my way to the door.  As I reached for the doorknob, it turned and the door opened.  On the other end, it was Shay who had a solemn face.

"shay are you alright?" The worry sparked in my voice like a forest fire.  The male looked up at me and just sighed.
"We dealt with most of the assassins.  However, one thing bothers me. "
I raised my brow and stared at the Templar.
"what might that be?"

Shay moved to close the door and leaned against it.  Oh no, he is being serious. I thought to myself what topics this might be off. "when we were going to kill Adewale.  He spoke of your father,  why would Ade know you father?" His eyes darkened as they looked down upon me.

I stared right back at him and sighed.  No use in lying.  "My father was an assassin. He and Adewale were apart of the same crew for years.  Then Ade joins the assassins." I felt my eyes water and suddenly the memory of me watching my father get stabbed flooded his head.  How he looked when he passed and the Templar that took me in.

I held my tears back and looked up at him.  "was that all you wanted to know Shay?"  The Irish man,  nodded and then Gist walked in with Jack.  "here were you two.  Ready to go?"
The small group nodded to one another. We made out of the confinements of the building and on to the streets.
