Yuri Katsuki pov
*****************
After the Grand Prix, Victor decided to go back to skating, all the while, I decided not to retire, but I didnt tell Victor that. I wanted to surprise him. I hired a new coach and her name was Mie Hamada.

I trained with Mie for several months, striving above her expectations. I became even better than before, and I knew it. I was now able to land quadruple flips and toe loops almost all the time, and I was working to land quadruple axels, some of the hardest jumps out there. I still couldn't get the quadruple axel, though. It was a nearly impossible jump, one that not even Victor has attempted, but as Victor always says, surprise the audience. I discussed with Mie and we agreed to keep my quadruple axel training a secret. If we want to surprise the audience, that's one element we can't reveal until the end.

As this year's Grand Prix rolled around, I became ecstatic. I won the silver last year so I knew I would be able to do well this year. I recieved my invitation to be in the Gran Prix and I was so happy.

"I'm so excited! We have to work even harder! I'm going to land a quadruple axel this year during the finals, I know it!" I told Mie.

"I know it, too! We'll have to push you harder though, and you'll need to work on the axel as much as possible, no matter what!"

We were both smiling as I sent in my acceptance letter and started choreographing a program.

"So, Yuri, what do you want this year's theme to be for your program?" Mie asked me as we scrolled through music styles to choose my music for my short and free skate programs.

I sighed, staring at one music style that had caught my eye.

"Punk rock." I whsipered.

"Punk rock? I like it! It'll go well with your quadruple axel surprise!"

"Really? Great! Then let's get to work on forming a badass short and free skate program!"

We spent two days designing the programs and the costumes, eventually ordering the costumes to be custom made by a designer friend if Mie's, and we managed to choreograph the programs.

I trained long and hard with both the short program and the free skate program, loving the punk rock badass theme I had going on. When the custom costumes came in, I was so happy. For the short program, I had an all black outfit with a sparkling silver choker and belt, and a black and red bandana. For the free skate, I had a white tank top, leather pants, spikey leather bracelets, and some silver necklace dog tags and chokers. I also had some silver chains that would be hanging from my hips on the pants.

I loved the costumes, but I loved my programs even more. Then, I found out which two events I would be in before the Grand Prix finals; Cup of China and NHK Trophy. I became even more excited when I found out Victor would be at the NHK Trophy, competing against me.

For the last week or two before I was scheduled to leave for the Cup of China, I worked even harder than before. I was finally starting to get the hang of the quadruple axel after four months of constant training. It was frustrating because I either managed to get the right rotations but couldnt land it, or I would land it but not get the tight amount of rotations. Sometimes I would be so close to achieving the correct rotations and getting a perfect landing, but would accidentally tap out and use the ground for leverage. It made me angry, but I pushed the frustration aside as I headed to airport to go to the Cup of China. I was do excited.

At the Cup of China, I was competing against Otabek, Yakov, Phichit, Yurio, and Christophe.

Great. Just great. I have to compete against Yurio and Christophe! They're going to be tough to beat. And I know they won't go easy on me. I thought as I got to the ice rink stadium and watched as Phichit took the ice.
