It had now been two years since Steve and DJ had started dating again. Tommy started school and Jackson was getting ready for college. Max of course helped him with the SATs before his football scholarship went through. It was family game night on Friday and Steve had one question he wanted to ask someone. Joey, Jesse, and Danny were over as they all played Jenga. Kimmy protested that they didn't get the life size version but was soon distracted by pizza being delivered. Danny had paid the delivery person as the pizza was soon inhaled. Everyone seemed to be having a slice when Danny looked at Steve.

"Steve are you okay? I don't think I've ever seen you empty handed on pizza night," Danny remarked.

"Actually, can I talk to you alone for a moment?" Danny gave a puzzled look before nodding.

"I'll go get some ice cream..." Danny said as he headed for the kitchen as Steve followed him. Kimmy stared after them and poked D.J.

"What's that all about?" Kimmy asked.

"They just went to get ice cream," D.J. said as Jackson pulled out a Jenga piece.

"But Steve? He didn't eat any pizza," Kimmy pointed out as D.J. frowned.

"Really? I thought he grabbed some..."

Danny grabbed the ice cream out of the fridge before turning to Steve, who was fidgeting with his hands.

"Okay Steve, you're starting to worry me now..." Steve forced his hands to his sides as he took a step closer.

"Um, so D.J. and I have been together for a while now..."

"A while? More like forever," Danny commented. Steve nervously laughed.

"Since everything with CJ, I wanted to do this right. So," Steve pulled out a box from his jacket pocket. Danny took a step back and almost dropped the ice cream.

"Danny Tanner, may I have your daughter D.J.'s hand in marriage?" Steve gasped. Max then burst through the kitchen.

"Why does it take so long to get ice cream?" Steve fumbled and dropped the box as Danny nearly dropped the ice cream on Steve.

"Just uh, making sure it was the right flavor," Danny fibbed as Max crossed his arms.

"What's going on?" Max demanded as Steve stuffed the box in his pocket.

"Nothing. Steve just wanted to ask me a question," Danny replied as Steve gave him a look of horror.

"Well, I don't know what's more important than ice cream. Come on!" Max groaned as he went back in the living room. Steve sighed as he put a hand on the kitchen island.

"The answer's yes by the way," Danny grinned as Steve's eyes bulged.

"Really?"

"Really. Steve, I've known you for a long time and I know how happy D.J. is when she's with you. I've been wondering when you would ask."

"Thank you, sir. I won't let you down."

"Of course not. Your family," Danny said as Steve smiled from ear to ear. Danny held his hands out.

"Come on, you know I can't resist a hugging moment," Danny said as Steve hugged him.

"So, when are you gonna ask her?" he asked as they let go.

"I, uh, haven't got that far. But I have an idea," Steve admitted.

"Alright, well we better get out there before they think something is up," Danny said as Steve nodded. Danny picked up the ice cream as they went out.

D.J. put a hand on Steve's shoulder when they came back.

"Steve are you okay? Kimmy said you didn't eat," D.J. said. Steve grinned.

"Oh, I'm perfectly fine. I just ate before I got here," Steve said.

"Did you get donuts again?"

"Maybe," Steve sheepishly smiled as Danny looked at him. Jesse went over to Danny.

"So, what took so long for ice cream?" Jesse whispered.

"Oh, Steve just needed some advice," Danny said.

"On what? What flavor of ice cream?"

"Yeah ice cream," Danny said as he looked at D.J. and Steve, who were smiling and laughing at each other as Steve pulled out a Jenga piece that sent the tower everywhere.

"Looks like Steve lost," Max said as they picked up the pieces.

"No, I think I won," Steve smiled as he looked at D.J.
