Lo Siento was a bop. No arguments, no debate no right answer other than a bop. For Maeum it was a bop and she had no problem promoting it on her main.
Twitter was not her platform, clearly given that she posted on it once every five hundred years. Her go-to to interacting with fans were vlives. Something she much like Twitter didn't do often but when she did they were worthwhile.
Drunk vlives had become part of her brand. What started out as "taking sip of an expensive brand of wine" turned into "taking shots of tequila that had once been gifted to her by a fan". Maeum was known for handling her alcohol but, they were instances in which she drank a little more than she thought she did.
Part of her brand also included music recommendations. NCT, Stray Kids, And Hyuna were some of the few she prompted as her life depended on it. And it was because of these recommendations that she went into detail about her love for them and why she loved their music.
Maeum had a system when it came to her vlives...or so she thought.
"Stream, download, buy, lo siento!" Was Maeum's punchline that started her vlive.
No warning, no set up, not even fully sober, Maeum has been borderline tipsy and waking up with a massive hangover that kept her by the toilet for the entire day.
How she was able to pull out her phone, go to the vlive app and go live remained a mystery. Many wondered if she even knew if she was live considering she repeated the same words over and over but then had fallen silent to answer army's questions or comments and rather spent an hour replaying her seniors Super Junior's "Lo Siento".
And when she finally did manage to settle down her response to why she liked the song came in the form of incoherent mumbles and her babbling the lyrics instead.
"It's...12 AM and I'm starving so little ones I'ma let you get your sleep because some of you have to go to that building to learn and I'm going to trick one of my minions to buy me food so bye-bye." A giggling woman waved at the camera before spending five minutes on how to end the vlive.
The end of Maeum's vlive did not mean the end of clownery the idol would endure from her fans, far from it.
Enter memes and clips to be dispersed throughout twitter and Instagram. This vlive being one of many iconic drunken moments in BTS history. #Maeum, #DrunkMaeum were one of few tags to trend on Twitter.
The spotlight was strict and focused. Although fans did it out of the humor of the situation, their dedication to meme Maeum caught more attention than they realized.
Indeed Maeum did wake up worse for wear. She was thankful she chose an off day, a day with no promotions nor rehearsals but a day to herself.
Her first instinct was to check the time but when her hand grasped and the brightness against her darkroom sent her eyes fluttering away from the time. In the fluttering seconds where her squinted eyes reached the brightness of her phone, she saw notifications, many notifications.
