HOGWARTS AU

[ this is an au, meaning it is an alternate universe, meaning this did not actually happen in brinley's storyline! this is just for fun and because i thought it could be interesting to write and edit for! i hope you enjoy! ]

ever since she had received her hogwarts acceptance letter, brinley rose was anxiously awaiting the day that the sorting hat would sit upon her head. she was the first in her bloodline to attend hogwarts, so she had no lineage into any household, which also eliminated any pressure to receive a certain house. as the first years walked towards the large castle, shaded by shadows in the night time, brinley wrung her hands nervously. she wasn't oblivious to things that were said about each house. she knew what each house was known for, and could see the pros and cons of each possibility.

after what seemed like no time at all, they were stepping into the great hall of hogwarts, where the long tables sat, filled with students from each hogwarts house. brinley scanned the room as best she could, noticing the colors shift from the slytherins to the gryffindors to the hufflepuffs and the ravenclaws. before long, the initiatio had begun and students were stepping up towards the sorting hat. brinley was close enough in line that she could actually see what was happening. she smiled brightly as each student received their new home, cheering along with others, clapping and hollering.

suddenly, brinley was next in line. she popped out of her headspace when she noticed no one was in front of her and she was looking directly at the sorting hat. they called her name and she briskly pranced up the stairs, taking a seat, and waiting. she smiled softly as the sorting hat was lowered down to her. its decision came rather quickly and it yelled out, "HUFFLEPUFF!"

brinley's smile grew even more as the table adorned with yellow stood and cheered for her. she already felt welcome and excited to be a hufflepuff. in her mind, it was the best house for her. hufflepuffs are often see as softies, but there's so much more to them. hufflepuffs are loyal, hard working, and dedicating, and for brinley these things were true in every aspect of her life. she cared immensely for her family and friends, and now her entire hufflepuff family. she put others before herself, wanting them to be happy, which in turn made her just as happy.

school wise, brinley was extremely dedicated. she was a straight A student, overbooking herself often, and taking on too many things at once. no matter how many things she had on her plate, she got through them with flying colors and left time for those she cared about, all while smiling. she loved her studies and gaining knowledge from a top wizardy school. she loved going to quidditch games and supporting her house. she tended to receive house points from her schoolwork, impressing their professors, or perfecting her wizardy.

brinley enjoyed her time at hogwarts, gaining knowledge about who she was and what she was capable of. she went on to be a professor at the school. she taught several things amongst different years, but her favorite was charms.
