Ciel was coughing. Badly. Sage thought he was choking as he lied of the couch. "C-Ciel?!"

Sage ran from his room, and hopped over the couch to Ciel. Ciel was pale and shaking. Sage held Ciel's trembling hands and Ciel weakly smiled, "M-My eyes are...up here, a-asshole...heh..."

"Th-This isn't the time for jokes, C-Ciel! D-Damnit, Ciel!" Sage shook as he held Ciel, tears slipping down his cheeks. Ciel's hands were freezing as Sage gripped them.

Ciel gradually stopped shaking, but Sage didn't notice. Sage pulled away from the embrace.

"Ciel?" Sage stopped. Everything froze. Sage held Ciel's wrist. "Ciel, please...this isn't the time for jokes... Ciel, move! I- I swear to god, this isn't the time..."

Tears continued to flow down Sage's cheeks. "Ciel...? N-No! W-Wake up! You can't f-fucking die!"

He weeped and still sat next to the couch, right by Ciel's side. "Just...wake up. We could watch Newsies....and everything would be alright.... you'd like that... right? We could just sit here and watch musicals all day..."

"And if you're gone tomorrow... what was ours still will be..." Sage hiccuped as he brokenly sang. "I had something to believe in... now that I knew you believed in me..." Sage's voice cracked.

"Please wake up now..." Sage shook. He punched the wall until his knuckles started to bleed. "...ITS NOT FAIR! ITS NOT FAIR! WE'S A FAMILY, YOU CANT LET ME DOWN!" He wailed. "YOU CANT DIE, CIEL? WHAT WILL I DO WITHOUT YOU?!" Sage fell to his knees. He sobbed.

"Tell... tell them I said hi. My family. My mom. The people who died in the facility and didn't come back. Tell Ryu... and everyone else in Freybach..." Sage wiped away tears.

"I already miss you, Ciel. Just wake up..."

----

Sage sat passed out from hyperventilating, bloody knuckles stained. He sat right beside Ciel, even in death. He'd always try to be right by his side, even if it meant sitting next to his grave everyday.

Sage was still unconscious as Tore walked in. Tore's scream is what awakened Sage. Sage bolted upwards, a bit hazily, and looked at Tore. "What's wrong?!" Sage held Tore's hand "Ciel, wake up-" Sage froze, remembering the events that had happened just about an hour ago. Sage nearly vomited, covering his mouth and falling to the ground again.

"Sage....? I'm so sorry..." Tore wiped her tears and held Sage.

"I-I'm sure he's still sleeping... earlier today he promised me we'd watch Rent and Newsies..." Sage held his knees and sat.

"Sage... he's... there's no pulse... I checked. He's- he's gone."

"No he's not! He's not, Tore! Just... I don't- fuck..." Sage looked at Ciel's lifeless body. Sage felt empty. He sat in silence, tears sliding down his cheeks.

"Tore...? What did I do to deserve this? First my sister, than my mother, my childhood, then you.... why Ciel?" he ran his hand through his hair, trying his best not to start crying his eyes out.

Tore remained silent, knowing there was nothing she could say to make Sage feel better. "Did I do something? Did I say something? I'll stop.... please just let this stop happening to me. I'm sick of losing people..." Sage held his head in his hands, continuing to talk to himself. "Ciel would probably say it's the way I dress..." Sage gave a humorless laugh.

"I'm not ready to lose another person, Tore. I don't want Ciel to leave... I don't want you to leave again..." Sage started to hiccup, and rest his head on his knees. "P-Please don't leave me again..."

Sage stared breathing heavier. Tears started to flow more rapidly. "I'm not ready- I'm not ready for you to leave, Ciel! Please... I'll do anything..." Sage practically pulled his hair out, clenching his jaw. "Why wasn't it me, Ciel!? I have so little to live for, and you have everything! Please, Ciel!" Sage started to yell.

"You's got Freybach, it's your Brooklyn! You can't go get to Santa Fe yet- not without me! You can't leave! You said you wouldn't let me down- you wouldn't! We's a fuckin' family! Ciel- please!" Sage screamed.

"He was always a lover, not a fighter. But he's fight hard for what he loved. He fought for you, Sage. And he's finally fought hard enough, Sage. Trust me." Tore tried her best to not cry.

"He can't leave... he can't. I don't want him to leave."
