"Look Danny, we need to talk about this! You can't just spring something like this on us then refuse to talk about it! I mean seriously?! They're crowning you king of the Ghost Zone?!" Sam Manson barked at their long time friend and honorary brother.

"They're right Danny! You can't just drop a bomb like that and walk away!" Tucker Foley squealed, backing up his best friend/sibling.

"Guys, I would really just appreciate some support and understanding right now! I'm freaking out just as much as you, if not more! I just want to get to home room and forget about everything the council and clockwork just told me! I already missed half  of our classes today and I don't want to add another to the very long list!" Danny whisper-yelled at them seeing as they were in a crowded school hallway. "Besides I'm getting crowned on my 14th birthday, which is in like a week! I want to spend as much time relaxing as I can before then, and not stressing about it!"

The two sighed in defeat as they gave their honorary little brother a hug, and dragged him to class as he had requested. When they arrived and sat in their seats they were rudely interrupted by someone tripping and falling on top of Sam, knocking them out of their chair. The person quickly apologized and helped right all of the things strewn across the floor, then when the person straightened up as they helped Sam off the floor and the three friends were surprised to see Paulina Sanchez's long, wavy, dark hair and sparkling aqua eyes staring remorsefully back at the trio.

"Oh Sam! I'm so sorry, I tripped over that guy's backpack!" She exclaimed. The three shared a look, sure she hadn't really picked on them in like three years but she hadn't exactly been friendly either. At least, not till today.

"Oh, well it's ok Paulina, it was just an accident." Sam said hesitantly. Paulina smiled and looked like she wanted to say something else but just then the bell rang and Mr. Lancer ushered everyone to take their seats as class began.

As class went on Sam and Tucker took notes and Danny tried to pay attention, he really did, but he just couldn't. The reason being a boy sitting in front of him who had blonde hair, gorgeous blue eyes, and a distinctly muscular frame. The distraction's name was Dash Baxter, he was the school football team's quarterback and king, with Paulina as his queen. Though the the two never dated it was widely assumed that they would be high school sweethearts and live happily ever after. If it wasn't obvious enough Danny had a huge crush on Dash and really hoped he liked him back. Just like Paulina, dash had bullied them back in elementary school, but had stoped after Danny had found Dash crying behind the school and had comforted him, after that they were generally left alone by all the populars, and Danny and Dash kept in touch to talk and, on occasion, to comfort each other.

Danny thought back to a conversation they had a few months back when they were hanging out at his house, playing doomed.

"Hey Danny can i tell you something?"

"Of corse Dash," Danny snorted at the stupid question,"Anything."

"Ok um I think I'm bi, or gay? I don't know but what I do know is that guys are a lot cuter than girls!" Dash giggled nervously, tapping away at his controller.

"I know, right!" Danny giggled without thinking. His eye widened in realization at what he had just said as he slapped a hand over his mouth. Danny and Dash stared at each other in shock for a moment before Dash cracked a grin, his eyes sparkling as he let out a choked laugh. The laughter grew until he was rolling around on the floor, clutching at his stomach, and soon Danny was on the floor, laughing just as hard.
