Jenny sat in her room feeling depressed. Tears started to fall down her face. She couldn't take it anymore. Living in this world will just cause her more and more pain. What is she supposed to do? There's nothing left. There's nothing she can do.
Everyone at her school pretends to be her friend but deep down, Jenny knows they all hate her for who she is. Jenny has tried many times to be someone else and in the end decided she liked the real herself more. Jenny crawled from the corner where she was sitting to her desk.
In her desk, a box with things that she had hidden during her most desperate times. In the box, there was a knife, a string that could go around an adult's neck, a piece of paper, and a pen. This box was taken out many times and put away again because Jenny always found some sort of peace. This time, Jenny can't find anything.
Hesitantly, Jenny took out the paper and the pen. The paper and the pen was intended to be used for writing a note if she had really gone. Jenny knew that no one would understand why she would want to do what she is about to. If she wrote a note, maybe her mom, and her little sister would understand.
"Jenny?" The voice was approaching Jenny's room and she had put away the box. Frantically, Jenny closed the box. Jenny threw the box onto her bed covers and hoped that whoever it was walking in would not notice it. "Jenny?" The person was right outside the door and they knocked on Jenny's bedroom door.
"Come in!" Jenny tried to put some enthusiasm to her voice, but it just wasn't working.
"Jenny, what's going on? Why are there tears on your face?" Claire, Jenny's best friend from fifth grade was worried sick about Jenny. She didn't go to school today and did not leave any messages for Claire. Swiftly, Claire looked around Jenny's room. Immediately, she found the box.
"Jenny! Why is this box out again? What happened? You know there are better choices than to use that box."
Jenny looked down at the carpet floor. It was useless. Even though Claire was here, Jenny didn't feel like it was worth it to live. Usually, Claire always brought Jenny peace, but this time, Claire, wasn't able to help. Claire, finally realizing that she had approached the situation the wrong way, started to find a way to comfort Jenny.
"Jenny, tell me. What happened?"
Jenny couldn't stand it anymore. Claire's face was filled with worry, and Jenny was burning with fury inside. "You don't get it Claire! You don't get it! You too popular to get it! Every single day, I watch you go with you friends and I'm just left alone. You don't get it! You don't get how it feels to be left out, and when you leave me, those girls just starts harassing me. I did go to school today, and right when I got there, the girls were already at the door. Waiting to harass me." Jenny's shoulders started shaking and the tears that came couldn't stop. "You don't get it Claire," it was the last thing that Jenny could get out before passing out.
