Pain
You can never truly avoid pain
We can hope, and beg, and scream for the end
Blood will always drip
From those scarlet rose petals
Pain of the body
Or pain of the mind
Pain can be muffled by empty pleasures
Sex
Drugs
Alcohol
But pain can never truly be silenced
The ringing in the back of your conscience will be ever-present
The hollow screams
The cacophonous dropping of a tear in that silent black room
The scars cresting across your back like branches of a tree
Thorns digging into your skin
Too afraid to let go
Awaiting the jaws of death at the eclipse of every fall
The whistle of a man
As you try to escape
Blood between your thighs
Fear dancing across your eyes
Pain is endless
Pain is omnipotent
Pain is
inevitable
