Little Sick Girl

Body like a hollowed shell

Fragile as a spider's web.

Blackened blood. Like poison;

sought to pollute, to waste.

Bruises dotted along the spine,

a trail of blackberry stains.

Fingers cold, shaking, fluttering

like trapped butterflies.

Lips blue, teeth ground

mind-racing to the floor.

Feet pointing inwards, eyes rolling back;

A childhood of greeting cold tiles.

Yet remains small traces,

faint voices, scattered thoughts,

spoken words in the order wrong!

but not a single scar lays surface.
