Demon Rising: The Ballad of Asura

Decending into Choas

        As the sun sets on the day the group of assassins watches as Cealus, Hibana, and Asura leave the Glaice house. As the royal family leaves the property the group moves closer upon the house Likuta motions for one of them to cut the power being completely silent only using hand signals to remain silent. The second the power is out the group slowly inches closer and closer to the building and Turmynine's voice can be heard asking Veightant about a flashlight so he can check the breaker box in the basement. The groups wait just outside the house in position waiting for their signal.
        Mean While just outside of the city of Arbitus, the planet's capital city, Ashinamia, and the newly Escaped Halo enter the largest known cemetery of the ancients that remain standing and untouched. Looking Down Ashinamia sets a blue stone with the symbol of energy on the ground and hands Halo a red and a yellow stone, he himself holds a green stone with the demon symbol of power on it. Pointing to the far end of the cemetery then to the far left.
        "Stone of site and stone of soul. In that order Halo. By the gods if you fuck that up you will wish you died in that military encampment" Ashinamia says to the young angel a dead serious tone of voice plays his lips as he speaks and Halo nods with agreement and spreads his wings and darts off to the other side of the prison. While he does this Ashinamia walks to the far right of the cemetery and places the green stone. Once placed he grabs a four inch knife from its sheath on his hip and sliced open his palm. Letting the blood drip onto the stone it starts to glow and a bright blue light shoots into the air, and soon the other three stones follow suit.
        "Those who have fallen in the lives past. Gone and forgotten from through the eons. Rise again and fight as one. Rise up and fight for your freedom!" Ashinamia grins and walks to the center of the cemetery as he speaks and looks as Halo walks to Ashinamia and stands behind him as dark and ominous clouds form and start circling around the center of the clouds rotating over the center of the cemetery and finally lights dance across the clouds heading towards the center rotating point as it opens up and a massive beam of light shoots down and spreads a thin layer of light across the ground. Souls jump from grave to grave. Body to Body, until they find their own. Ashinamia stands grinning as his army of mindless, primitive warriors break themselves free from their once eternal graves.
        Back at the Glaice homestead Likuta and his assassins watch the clouds and grin as they know the pieces are falling into place.
        "That's the signal lets go. Kill everyone inside no exceptions. Let's go", He grins as the heavily armored man jogs over to the door and kicks it open and shines the light on his helmet inside. Turmynine stands his sword in hand, his face is calm and collected as he lunges towards the man digging his blade into the assassin's shoulder. As he does this the back door is also broken open and the rest of the men and Likuta enter the house their silenced pistols, combat knives, and swords drawn ready for battle. As soon as Turmynine saw them he grabs a throwing knife at the closest one and pulls his sword from the man in front of him he doesn't seem phased by the attack. Immediately after freeing his blade he spins around as quick as possible and meets the blade of the third assassin. Seeing the armored assassin prepare himself to charge using the thick steel helmet as a battering ram, Turmynine waits till the last second then jumps up as the armored assassin collides with the third assassin.
        As soon as he recovered from the jump Turmynine swung his sword down on the Assassin that was still recovering beheading the Demon in armor and crippling the one that wasn't with a harsh blow to the chest. At this point, Veightant is well aware of the fight and has started down the stairs with her sword to aid her husband.
        "Veightant I can handle them! protect Honibenat and Chance! Call  Cealus if you can but please just protect them!" He yells to her as he falls to his knee after a throwing knife finds its home in it as he also stops a sword from connecting with the top of his head. Hesitantly she nods and runs back up the stairs grabbing her cell phone and dialing out to Cealus pleading for his help. Turmynine grabs the knife and pulls it from his knee his blood dripping onto the carpet as he pushes the fourth assassin back. As the fifth one lunges at him and he quickly turns to block her sword. As well as the fourth assassin's sword. Obviously stressing himself to keep up the two from overpowering him he doesn't notice Likuta sneaking up behind him and drawing his sword. As Turmynine notices Likuta he pushes back hard on the two and turns around as Likuta runs his sword through his chest and heart and he stops dead in his tracks coughing up blood, it running down Likuta's sword as the fourth assassin plunges his sword down through Turmynine's stomach and the fifth assassin swings her beheading the once great demon general.
        As this is happening Veightant is hiding little Honibenat in the cupboard under the bathroom sink and locking it the entire time telling her everything will be okay and that she shouldn't worry. She turns and whips the tears from her eyes and collects herself taking the same calm collected look her husband had when he made his stand. Three out of six assassins are dead and three are left. Without a moment to waste, she starts walking to face the enemies in her house as they walk up the stairs and turn towards her Likuta walking with something behind his back. Veightant stops and raises her sword in a defensive position and  Likuta grins and pulls Turmynine's head out from behind his back. Turmynine's face displayed the pain and shock he was in from the blades that pierced his body. Veightant's resolve breaks as she sees his head and she almost collapses. The fourth and fifth assassin walk towards her and grab her pinning her to the ground as Chance, the newborn, starts crying. Grinning Likuta walks into the room and looks at the newborn demon girl and picks her up.
        "Hey, their little one", He grins walking back to Veightant with her daughter. Veightant looks at Likuta and starts shaking her head.
        "Please no! Leave her alone! She's all I have left... ", She says crying as Likuta grins. He motions to the assassins as the fourth grabs her by the hair and pulls her head back and the fifth places her blade to Veightant's neck.
        "Say bye bye to mommy. Say bye bye mommy" Likuta grins as he makes the newborn wave goodbye to her mother as he nods and the assassins behead her all her pain and crying ending in that moment. Likuta motions to them and they grab the heads and start walking they are meet by Cealus who stands fully armored and ready to fight. Cursing Likuta grabs the heads from the other two and puts them in his bag as the two remaining assassins jump at Cealus as he easily dodges their advances and he rushes after Likuta who has the heads of his friends and their daughter.
        As he reaches the top of the stairs the fifth assassin throws weighted chain at Cealus and it wraps around his ankle. Quickly pulling on the chain the assassin causes Cealus to fall onto his chest and stomach and she begins to pull him down the stairs as she does he spins over quickly and a miniature crossbow pops up off his left lower arm piece and he fires the small single arrow he has into the head of the assassin that is more focused on pulling than what he is doing. As the arrow fires, the fourth assassin jumps off of a chair and over the railing to try and dig his blade into Cealus. Seeing him at the last moment, Cealus raises his arm up and the blade hits the arm guard he has on and slides off leaving a cut in the armor and a shallow cut in the skin tight suit in his stomach and a small cut in his skin.
        Quickly he raises both arms, using the metal guards on them to protect his head from the blows of the blade being swung at him. The moment he sees the Assassin has let his guard down even slightly he kick his heel into the stairs and knife pops out of the tip of his boot and he kicks up as hard as he can straight into the assassins scrotum, causing the man to drop his blade in pure shock and pain as he does so Cealus jumps up grabbing the blade and thrusting it into the man's chest, killing him with his own blade. Standing up Cealus unwraps the chain from his ankle while also letting the assassin fall, as soon as he is finished he runs up the stairs in an attempt to keep Likuta from getting out with the child. As he reaches the  entrance to the back terrace he sees the doors are already open and Likuta and Chance are long gone.
        "DAMN IT!" He yells out as he hits the railing at full force his armored gloves leaving dents. As he starts for the stairs he hears crying and the sound of a door banging softly. Heading towards banging he ends up in the bathroom and looks at the locked and bolted cupboard.
        "What were you hiding Veightant." He says looking over at the headless body and with a heavy sigh, he lets himself fall onto the seat of his pants and look at the door.
        "M-mommy l-let me out, please.... Are you there?" As those words hit his ears his eyes widen and he realizes. Honibenat was hidden in there this entire time.
        "Honi can you hear me?! Don't worry little girl ill get you out of there!" He says scrambling to his feet and quickly running around looking for something to break the locks. When he doesn't find anything that will do the trick he sees if he can find the key, but quickly looses patients. Returning to the bathroom, he grabs the door and starts to pull on it pushing his feet against cabinet itself as leverage. As he pulls harder and harder his hands get cut open through his thin gloves, the armor on his fingers providing enough protection to allow him to keep pulling though. Finally, splintering wood can be heard as he pulls the door free of the hinges and the locks.
        Inside little Honibenat is crying scared out of her mind.
        "Come on little one its ok.. It'll all be ok" He says sadly as little Honibenat slowly moves out of the cupboard and into Cealus's arms. Holding her so she can't see Cealus leaves the house stepping over bodies but grabbing her parents swords, her mothers bow, and their throwing knives. Holding the weapons and the now asleep Honibenat he walks home and once safely back at the castle lays the little girl in bed she usually sleeps in. She lays in view of Asura who is soundly asleep.
        Walking to the armory, he grabs a piece of thick fabric and lays it on a table. Taping the knives together he places them in the middle the swords around them and the bow and quiver on top of the words as Hibana walks in.
        "What happened hun?" She says walking up behind her husband and wraps her arms around him.
        " I didn't make it in time Hibina.. They're gone..." He says wrapping the weapons in the cloth and placing them in a duffel bag. 
        "Honi is the only survivor and chance is gone to who knows where.." He walks over to the sword cabinet and puts the bag on top of it. 
        " You did what you could Hun. Let's get some rest it is going to be a long day tomorrow." Hibana says to him and helps him out off his armor and leads him to bed.
        Likuta runs towards the cemetery holding te child and the heads heading to the cemetery and the waiting Ashinamia. At this point, the three million partially decayed bodies of the ancients have resurrected and stand restlessly  fighting each other or attacking the enchanted gargoyles that have been brought to life as well.  As Ashinamia sits on top of a gravestone that was essentially a thrown and a  man that he broke off to provide himself with a have a seat. Halo stands next to him watching the warriors.
        "We have the power why don't we strike? we have more than enough men to kill Cealus and his family?" Halo says standing impatiently and Ashinamia simply just raises his hand and silences the angel. Only a few moments pass before Likuta runs into the clearing and stops being out of breath. He waits a moment before standing straight and walking over to Ashinamia.
        "The mission was a success we killed them and we have the first contender for you Orion project sir" Likuta hands Ashinamia Veightant and Turmynine's heads then sets Chance on the ground with them. 
           "Where are the others?" Ashinamia looks at Likuta with a cold glare and grabs the head of the man looking at it and mumbling something under his breath.
        "Cealus killed the first few but he was easy to kill otherwise and when we were about to make our escape Cealus cut us off sir. The remaining two gave their lives to distract him long enough for me to get away." Likuta looks a bit nervous as he speaks and Ashinamia looks at him condescendingly the entire time making him even more nervous and a few excruciating moments pass.
        "Very well." He says sitting up and rolling the head to the troops that immediately attack and stab at it out of primal rage. "Take the child to Eden and hide in the cabin you first departed from until I say otherwise." He says and stands looking at Halo "Cealus, Hibana, and Asura are probably sleeping now. Go to the castle sneak in and wait for my signal. I am going to go kill the council of the elders with the army then when that is done I will storm the city and you will kill them in their sleep if possible if not possible do everything in your power to keep them distracted till I arrive understood?" He looks at both Halo and Likuta and silently they both nod and Halo spreads his wings and darts off. Likuta grabs Chance and vanishes into a cloud of fog that dissipates moments after.
        Whistling Ashinamia pulls his sword out of the ground and sheaths it and his men fall in line as he turns and starts walking and they follow behind him. A short few hours they approach the Pyramid like temple that houses the thirteen eldest demons in existence. Blasting open the door to the temple and the men storm in quickly overwhelming the guards and killing the first three just in the immediate shooting while entering.
        "Leave Ian for me. I have unfinished business with him the rest are yours to do as you please!" Ashinamia says as he walks towards the chapel of the temple where Ian is usually contacting the spirits of the dead that provide wisdom and counsel in times of had ship and decision-making. Kicking open the door, he slowly walks into the room and stands two meters away from the priest. "Your time has come Ian and no one is here to help you this time."
        Ian finishes his prayer while Ashinamia stands impatiently. Turning to face him, Ian smiles softly "That is where you are wrong Ashinamia. Yes you may have the advantage in numbers, but I know your plan" Ian crosses his arms "And as long as Asura and Honibenat are alive I will fight to protect them" Ian's sword forms in his hands as Ashinamia grins at the speech.
        "Don't waste your breath old man nothing, you can do, can save them" He says drawing his sword and taking an offense pose and seeing his chance Ian lunges forward clashes blades with Ashinamia and flips over him and into a portal that takes him to the castle. As Ian starts towards Cealus and Hibana's room he hears a noise. Little Asura walks into his parents room and sees Halo about to slit his Father's through immediately snapping out of his dazed slumber. He jumps at Halo causing a massive bang that causes Cealus to stir awake and sees Halo and Asura in a fist fight that Halo seems to be winning. Before he has time to get out of bed Ashinamia runs through his own portal and kicks Asura hard in his side and forces him off Halo.
        Seeing this Ian sprints into the room and tackles Ashinamia and Cealus darts over to Asura to cheek on him. Before he can stand up Halo jumps onto Cealus's back and grabs him by his horns and bashes his head into the wall as quick as he could. Shortly after Ian draws his sword on Ashinamia and blocks a blow that would have been fatal. Asura forces himself up and drags himself to his mother's side of the bed and try's to shake her awake while avoiding the fighting. His efforts however are in vein, as he feels a warm liquid and he looks down to see his hands are covered in his mother's blood because Halo was already half way done with his job when Asura arrived.
        Immediately he tries to wipe his hands off of the blood onto the blanket as he starts to panic.
        "Asura! Protect Honi! We will handle these guys! Go!" Cealus yells to his sun and Asura nods and runs off to his room trying to shake Honi awake but falling to accomplish his goal. Seeing Asura run Halo pushes Cealus into  Ashinamia  and darts after him and Ian pushes Ashinamia back to fight Cealus and to aid Asura. As Asura grabs Honibenat and runs out of the room the sound of marching can be heard as the ancient soldiers's entered the town causing havoc and burning buildings. Being unarmed Cealus takes a risky move and charges Ashinamia tackling him into the wall and starts punching him as hard as he can and a loud pop can be heard as Ashinamia's nose breaks, deciding he has had enough of the petty attempt to do any real damage he grabs Cealus's arms and head buts him knocking him out and he leaves the room heading in the direction of the other three in no true rush.
        Asura runs down the hall and to the stairs Honibenat in his arms as Halo follows close on his heels and by time he is at the bottom Halo is practically on top of them. Taking the advantage Halo tackles Asura causing him to send Honi across the room waking her up to see  Halo trying to stab Asura as he uses his arms to block the blade. Honi growls and stands up running at Halo and gives him a hard shove causing him to fall off Asura, but the effort was mute as Ashinamia swings and hits her with the dull end of his blade sending her to the closest wall being knocked unconscious on impact. When Asura brings himself to stand he sees Ian laying on the ground dead seeming like he was stabbed in the back and Ashinamia walks forward grabbing Asura by one of his horns and punching him hard enough to knock him out.
        When he finally wakes Ashinamia is yelling into a camera used to address the species but his hearing isn't with him yet, and then in a quick moment Ashinamia grabs the bound Cealus by the head and plunges a dagger into his throat and throws his body forward and Asura lets out a scream of terror. Despite the immense pain Asura stands and try's to get to Ashinamia but is meet with Halo's blade swiping his chest leaving a deep gash, yet he keeps trying to get to Ashinamia the rage blinding him. So again Asura pushes forward and this time Halo slices down his face and Asura falls to his hands and knees a hand over his eye. Now he has Ashinamia's attention and as he stands this time his left arm extended as he tries to get the man that is now feet from him Halo gives a quick cut that slices the arm clean off him and then grabs him and forcefully breaks one of his horns. Falling to the ground, Ashinamia grabs a syringe from his pocket and injects it into Asura's neck as he falls.
        "You have my permission to die after you see your precious hell fall" Ashinamia whispers to Asura then opens a portal sending him through it then he looks at Halo "Take the runt to the jail she will live for now. As for you go prove your royalty in heaven and take control then we will initiate phase 2". Halo vanishes to heaven and appears just outside of the capital city as Asura lands On top of a moving car the driver stopping and Oliver Andrew Bennet rushes out to the demon's aid rushing him to the hospital in a panicked rush.
