Dimensional Shift III: Betrayal of Fate

The Press Conference

"Today's the day, John!"

John glances over.

    "What's today?" John asks.

    "You don't remember? We get to meet the President today!" Logan responds.

    "What?! That's insane! I completely forgot about that, actually." John says.

    "They want us to do a press conference talking about what we used to defeat Darkmentio." Logan says.

    "Should be pretty easy; just tell the press we fought it using our Ultra Moves." John responds as he lays down on the couch.

    "True, but what if they don't believe us?" Logan asks.

    "The entire city saw it happen, why wouldn't they believe us?" John responds, giving Logan a "why would you say that, you moron?" look.

    Then, a phone call rings through. John answers.

    "Hey, what's up? John here. Oh hey, Mr. President! It's time? Ok, I'll let him know. Thanks again! Bye." John hangs up.

    "I heard you. Let's go." Logan says.

    John gets onto his Aprilia RSV4 RR sport bike and speeds away. Logan gets in his Pac-Man styled Ferrari 458 Speciale and drives behind John.

    At the press conference room...

    "John! John! Over here, please!" A reporter asks.

     "Yes?" John asks the reporter.

    "How did you and Logan become friends?"

    "Well, I found about Logan existing in fifth grade, but I didn't start talking to him until the end of seventh grade, in junior high." John responds.

    "Logan! I need to ask you something too!" Another reporter asks.

    "What's up?" Logan asks.

    "What did you and John use to defeat the Binary race?" The reporter questions.

    "Me and John have special abilities named Ultra Moves. John's Ultra Move summons a giant hammer made entirely out of Atari 2600 controllers. My Ultra Move works a bit differently. John, do you have the video?" Logan asks.

    "Yeah, I do!" John says as he plays the DVD.

    The DVD shows news footage of Logan using his Ultra Move on Corrupted Darkmentio when it was still a threat. The video ends, and the crowd applauds.

    "Logan, what does the Diamond Spiral do?"

    "Um.. unfortunately, I would tell people, but that's classified by the Government. Sorry." Logan responds.

    "John, can you give us a story on your weapon?"

"I definitely can tell you! I forged Exor with inspiration for one of the main villains from the Super NES game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Bit of an obscure pick, but it's one of my favorite games for how unique it was back in 1996." John says.

    Meanwhile, in the Internet...

    "Ugh... Dad, I hope you aren't mad..." Binary says. "I lost to those freaks again! Even with an unstoppable army!"

    "Stuck in the digital world since my physical form was killed during that mess-up. CURSE YOU, JOHN AND LOGAN!!!"

    Then, he notices something out of the corner of his singular eye.

    "Huh? Who's there!"

    "Binary. I'm glad to see you."

    "I don't want to hurt you, but if I must, I will!"

    "Relax. I'm not here to kill you. I am your grandfather, in a sense."

The demon teleports behind Binary.

    "What the...?! How did you do that!"

    "My name is Zomizo. I haunt the internet. I knew about you and your race before Syntax was even sent out to the Link Cable. I am your king, and you failed me. But now, you have a chance at redemption." Zomizo responds.

    "How dare you! My father is the king, you liar!"

    "I see your problem. You're self-centered and only believe in what you see fit."

    "Um... what? Anyway, discuss with me what you desire. I will do anything to avenge my father's legacy."

    "More than happy to help you. As you may be able to tell, I'm nothing but a ghost form right now, and I need a host to possess."

    "Who would you like as your host?"

    "John. The self-acclaimed 'Spiral Warrior.' I get sick of watching that bastard tear through my army and my reputation. Now, he shall pay for what he has done."
