Chapter 9: The witch is back

~~~ Salem, Massachusetts, 1692 ~~~

A turnkey opens a cell door in a jail where a blonde woman is waiting for her fate, a good looking man with medium brown hair walks in and she looks at him in a mix of shock and sadness.

"Hello, Melinda," The man says as he walks in and she starts to tear up a little bit.

"Why? Why did you betray me?" She asks him and he smirks.

"You got what you deserve," he says and she doesn't take her eyes off of him.

"So you've never loved me? All the passion, all the heat?" she asks him and he shrugs.

"I had to make you trust me. It was the only way to share your powers," he says and she stands up straighter.

"And so now you have them. So why would you turn me in? You know I'll burn," she says hoping that we will worry.

"I had to keep my secret," Matthew says and Melinda pushes back her tears.

"Well, you can keep your trinkets too," Melinda says and she pulls off a locket that was around her neck and throws it at him.

"I'll find another witch to give it to," Matthews says and picks up the locket, Melinda smirks as he opens the locket.

"Maybe not," Melinda says as Matthew takes out a little piece of paper and it catches on fire, he then throws it on the ground and looks up at Melinda with a glare on his face.

"What magic is this?" Matthew asks her and her smirk becomes more prominent.

"I'm taking back the powers you stole from me," 

"Outside of time,

outside of gain,

know only sorrow,

know only pain." 

It gets really windy as Melinda chants the spell and Matthew gets sucked into the locket.

~~~ Present time, Manor, Kitchen ~~~

"So I suggested we add crab satay to the, uh, lunch menu and it was great. Sold out. Do you like crab, Leo?" Piper asks him as he is laying underneath the sink and Phoebes sitting at the table.

"You know what I'd love, Piper?" Leo says to her and I smile as I sit next to Phoebe at the kitchen table.

"What's that?" she asks, believing that he is flirting with her.

"Is the, uh, ratchet extension. Could you hand that to me?" he asks her and she nods.

"Sure," Piper says and looks in his toolbox but doesn't know what it is, I laugh and I walk over and pick up the tool that Leo needs.

"Here you go baby," I say and hand him the ratchet extension that he needs.

"Thanks Mel," he says and I smile and watch my boyfriend work, trying not to listen to Phoebe and Piper whispering.

"Stop it and leave them alone," Phoebe says to Piper who just scoffs.

"Be right back," Piper says and drags Phoebe out of the room.

"No problem," he says and I watch as Piper and Phoebe go in the dining room.

"Bloody hell, Piper is not going to stop until she finds someone to finally fall in love with, someone that is not a demon or a ghost," I say quietly, making sure that only Leo can hear me.
