"Love Is...."

Have you ever been in a situation where you want to throw all good things in your life just to have this one great thing? Are you going to throw it all? Are you willing to take risk?
I have so many questions. But the truth is there’s only one question that I want to ask: Is there someone who is worth taking the risk for?
“Sir, you have a call from Mr Cruz.” My assistant said.
“I’m busy.”
“Pero, sir, kanina pa po siya—“
“I said I’m busy. What part of that you don’t understand?”
“I’m sorry, sir.” Then she finally left.
My name is Kevin Valdeleon. 23 palang ako pero isa na akong CEO. May kompanya kami kaya pagkagraduate ko sa college ay ginawa na agad akong CEO ng daddy ko. Tinuruan niya ako about business noong 7 years old palang ako. So wala na dapat magtaka kung bakit wala akong kaibigan. My life is just all about business, that’s all.
“Sir?”
“What again, Sandra?” Iritable kong tanong nang pumasok ulit sa opisina ko ang assistant ko.
“Sir, si chairman po nasa meeting room, pinapatawag po kayo.” At bakit naman kaya nandito si dad?
“Ok, pupunta na ‘ko.”
Nakita ko agad si dad nang pumasok ako sa meeting room. He’s standing and looking to the other buildings outside.
“Why are you here, dad?”
“Too many competitions we have, yeah?” Nandito ba siya para pag-usapan ang mga kakumpitensya namin? Pero kung ikukumpara kami sa iba, di hamak na mas lamang ang kompanya namin.
“Dad, mataas ang sales natin. At na-close ko na yung deal with our foreign investors.” Then he laughed.
“This is not about our company. It’s about Cruz.” Not again. “He’s my friend, Kevin. Isang sem lang naman ang hinihingi niya.”
“I thought the only thing important is the company? Paano ako makakapagtrabaho kung magtuturo ako?”
That Mr Cruz is a close friend of my dad. He owns a big university, and he wants me to teach there just for a sem. I don’t know why he’s so eager to convince me. Hindi naman sila kulang sa professor. He’s just unreasonable, that’s all.
“Then I will handle the company, if that’s what you’re worrying about. Besides, the company is in a good condition right now.” Naiinis na talaga ako. Lagi na lang siya ang nasusunod. I never got the chance to choose for myself. Not even once.
“Ok, papayag ako. But I have a condition.”
“Anything.” Good.
“After the sem, I will file a leave. One year leave, dad.”
“Ok, we have a deal.”
