It was the first day of school. We were at a beginning of the year assembly. I thought it would just be the same talk from last year, but I was wrong. They announced that we could no longer use the word Snitch. Most kids thought this ban was pointless, but for me it was kind of a relief even though it was not going to be followed through with.

A couple weeks later I was in my science class and one of the other girls in the class asked.

"Why are we not allowed to use the word snitch any more? It's only used for people who enjoy telling on other people." I wanted to burst into laughter. The teacher responded.

"Last year it got to a point were kids were so scared of being called a snitch that they won't even go and talk to the school concealer." This was something that I had felt over the past year and I wanted respond.

"It's not always used like that." I said. "I've been called a snitch for no reason."

The kid behind me said "What do you mean?"

I smiled. "They think I'm a snitch."

"That's cause you are one." Was his response.

"Thank you for proving my point." I said in a sarcastic tone. Then I turned to face another kid in the class.

"What? I've never called you a snitch." He defended himself.

"What about yesterday." He blushed a vibrant red.

"But we like you." Said the girl next to him.

This made me laugh. "Oh, I don't care if you call me a snitch. I just think it's funny that you forget."

This was one of many conversation I've had over the past couple years. I'm that kid in class, the one who you think is trying there best just to suck up to the teacher. The one who you think is snitch. Well have you ever stopped and thought about me. I bet not so let me tell you a little more about me a so called snitch.
