"Hi honey," you greeted Steve with a hug once you came home. "Hi (y/n)," Steve smiled and kissed your lips once you let go of the hug. You and Steve haven't hung out together in a while, and you missed it. A date night was definitely due. You thought the perfect time to bring up the idea would be now. "Sooo, wanna go out tonight? We haven't really had a date night in a while.." you suggested, keeping your right arm wrapped around his shoulder as he did the same to you.

"Ah, tonight? That's not going to be good," he said, shaking his head. "What? Why not?" You asked, feeling a little hurt. "Well, I've got some important superhero business to take care of," he said. That sounded a bit too suspicious to you. You raised an eyebrow, dropping your arm from his shoulder.

"Oh, really?" You ask, now sure that something was up. "Because you've been having to take care of 'superhero business' for about a week now! And you're not telling me what it is!" You protested. "Well, I'm sorry (y/n). Trust me I really don't want to but I have to. You know I'd love to hangout with you tonight but I can't. I have to meet up with Natalia to discuss top secret missions." He explained to you honestly.

Your jaw dropped slightly however at the mention of the woman's name. "OH! So you're hanging out with another girl, huh? You'd rather hangout with Natalia tonight than me??" You got defensive. You couldn't believe your ears. Steve never told you anything about discussing his 'superhero business' with another woman.

Steve's eyes widened at you. "What? (Y/n), no! I swear, that's not what it is sweetheart! You know I love you," he tried to hug you, but you pulled away from him, folding your arms across your chest and glared at him. "Oh sure you do! Steve, WE haven't hung out together just us in the longest time! And whenever I try to make plans to go out with you, it's always 'superhero business'! Now I know what this superhero business really is! You'd rather go out with Natalia than me, your own wife!" You huffed, there were tears beginning to threaten your eyes as you turned your back towards Steve.

"(Y/n)!" Steve said, coming over to face you. "Sweetheart, it's not what it seems I promise. I would never cheat on you. Nobody could top you, you're so beautiful and kind and loving and sweet and just-perfect. Irreplaceable. I love you. So much. I would never try or want to replace you ever, I hope you know that." Steve assured you, cupping your face in his hands. but you still didn't believe him.

You turned your head away from him not even wanting to look him in the eye at the moment. You just couldn't. Now that you knew what was up with Steve and why he doesn't want to hangout, you don't want anything to do with him anymore. "Really?? Well, if you love me so much, then you'd tell Natalia you don't feel comfortable with working with her so much! That would at least be respectful to me!" You continued to argue, the tears were now running down your cheeks.

Steve honestly wasn't cheating. He was telling the truth, he would never chose someone over you. He loves you too much to do that, he just wished you knew. "(Y/n)—"
"No, Steve! Don't talk to me! We're done!" You hissed, storming off to your room in the tower to gather your thoughts.

You didn't know how to feel right now. Steve was cheating on you. He's choosing another woman over you. What was so wrong with you that's making him want to pick someone else to love instead? Nothing. There's absolutely nothing wrong with you. You're great to Steve, you treat him like a king. So you didn't know why he would even do this. This was always a big fear of yours, being cheated on and left behind. It's happened to nearly everyone you know, their spouse has cheated on them and they were left all alone and never remarried after that.

You laid face down on your bed and just cried into your pillow. You didn't know what you did to deserve this. You just knew that you didn't want Steve to leave you. You're nothing without him.

Steve sighed as he watched you storm off, he didn't like seeing you upset like this. It broke his heart to see you cry. But you're totally convinced that he's cheating, you already have the evidence even though he wasn't.

He sighed and went off to the shield offices, sending you one last text which you didn't answer before he left.

He met up with Natalia but this time he was more quiet with her. "Hi Steve," she greeted him with a smile. "Hey," he sighed, not looking too happy. Natalia's smile faded from her face when she noticed Steve like this. "What's wrong? You seem upset." She said.

"Nothing...lets just get onto the meeting," he said, taking a deep breath and went to go get suited up.

The entire time he couldn't focus because all he worried about was you being upset and thinking he was cheating on you and how he messed up your relationship. He wished he could make it up to you, so when the meeting was over he planned a surprise for you.

He bought you a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a bag of Reese's, your favorite chocolates. He came home from the long meeting finally which he felt dragged, and he gave a knock on the door. "(Y/n)? It's me. Please open up," Steve said.

You groaned and rolled your eyes when you heard his voice and forced yourself out of bed. You haven't got up all day and went over to answer, though you really didn't want to. "What?" You growled when you answered the door.

"(Y/n), I love you. So much. I'm so sorry that you felt hurt. I don't want you to be upset. I told Natalia that I can't work with her anymore because it's making you upset. So, to make up for it, do you wanna go out tonight?" He asked, looking at you with puppy dog eyes.

You just looked at him and then suddenly he pulled you in for a deep kiss. You kissed him back, and you could feel that he really didn't mean to hurt you in the kiss. Once you let go, a small smile crept up onto your face.

"So, where were you thinking of going?" You asked. His face lights up he wraps an arm around you as he walks you out to the car. "Well, there's this amazing five star restaurant that I love that we can try. It's got the best Italian food," he told you as he walked you out to the car.

"Ooo, sounds fancy," you giggle, hopping inside the passenger seat as Steve opens the door for you. You forgave Steve and realized that he really wasn't ever planning on cheating on you and had the best night with him in a long time.

A/N: ok, here's an update! (Finally hahaha) what did u guys think of this one? This one was super cute and so fun for me to write out! I loved it! It turned out to be actually a bit longer than I had planned but that's great! And also, thanks for 800 reads!!! You guys are seriously the best!!! I love y'all 3,000! 💗
