"Hurry up you two~" Zed said with a wide smile as Bismarck and the commander hugged tightly.

"We're coming zed" the commander replied with a smile, pulling away from Bismarck slightly, only to be pulled back into a kiss.

"I'll miss you..." Bismarck whispered as the pair parted.

The commander let out a sigh and fixed up Bismarck's hat, "You'll be fine~ You're only on patrol for a couple of days after all"

"We really need to go Bismarck!" Zed yelled as she was preparing to set off.

"R-Right coming!" Bismarck responded as she shared a final smile with the commander before leaving with Zed for the patrol...

---Timeskip---

After watching Bismarck and Zed disappear over the horizon the commander re-entered his jeep and began to drive away from the port and back towards the main base. On his way he saw one of his junior commanders walking along the side of the road.

"Can I give you a lift?" He asked with a smile as the junior commander let out a gasp.

"I w-wouldn't want to burden you ssir..."

"It's not a problem son, get in"

"O-Okay... Thanks sir"

"Don't mention it~"

As they drove away from the docks and up towards the base, the commander did his best to educate the junior officer about the base.

"And that's the dive tower where we practice rescues, but if a sub gets in trouble there's not a lot anyone can do..."

"Right..." the junior responded cautiously.

"Look at these bums loafing off over here, good thing the war is in the other ocean~"

The commander joked as he pulled up next to a group of mechanics that were gathered around a park bench looking over a 'special' magazine.

"Uh, hope I'm not interrupting..."

"A-Absolutely not sir! Just going over the latest.. uh... specs with the men sir"

*Vrooooom*

A loud noise was then made followed by a group of fighter planes passing low over head.

"Damn army guys, someone's going to catch up to them for buzzing HQ like that" One of the mechanics mused.

"They aren't army! Look at the Stars on the wings!" Another mechanic yelled as the planes began to strafe the ground around them.

"Eagles!" The commander yelled "Get to the docks! Move!"

"W-What are we g-going to do s-sir?!" The junior asked shakily as the commander drove quickly around the base, explosions and fire erupting around them.

"I'm going to get you to the bunker!"

"Okay sir but-" The junior started, stopping as a bullet passed through his right shoulder.

"Are you hit?!"

"Y-Yes s-sir I..." The junior tried to speak as he faded in and out of consciousness.

"Hang on, stay with me son!" The commander yelled as he skidded the jeep, turning sharply in towards the bunker entrance.

"Sir..." The junior muttered as his face was beginning to lose it's color.

"Don't worry you'll be fine!" The commander yelled as he put an arm around him and carried him to the bunker entrance.

Once he got there he placed the junior on a wheeled bed that was near the door and began furiously pushing it down the corridor towards the medical bay.

"Get out of the way! Get a doctor!"

As soon as they reached the medical room the commander grabbed the doctor and pushed him towards the junior, "He needs help now!"

"We are loosing him!"

"Charging... 3! 2! 1!"

---Timeskip---

After ensuring that the junior was safe and alive, the commander exited the bunker and began heading back to his office to organise the defense of the base.

As he got close to his office a bomb exploded near him, knocking him to the ground.

As the commander stumbled to his feet his hearing and sight were both heavily impaired, despite this he continued to slowly make his way towards his office...

---Bismarck and Z23 POV---

"I know he is but-" Bismarck started, stopping herself as she and Zed received an emergency radio message.

"This is an emergency! We need all ships and other personnel to return to the base immediately! We're under heavy attack and have suffered heavy casualties! To all who hear this, return to base immediately!"

"Commander!" Bismarck yelled as she and Zed began furiously moving back towards the base.

---Commander POV---

"Urg..." The commander muttered as he entered his office and shut the door behind him.

He pushed his chair out of the way and checked whether or not the emergency signal had been sent. After confirming that it had been he started to head back out of his office, knowing that it was unprotected from the enemy bombs which were still falling all over the base.

Just as he started moving however, he heard a high pitched whistling sound right above him. He looked up at the ceiling of his office and closed his eyes, letting out a small sigh.

"I'm sorry Bismarck..."
