"What do you mean by quit?"

"I quit my duties as the god of whatever shit I'm a god of." Kopka replied, getting out of Ecah's grip.

Ecah paused. "Well... I mean I guess you can leave. Can I have a reason?"

Kopka thought. "Nah."

Ecah sighed. "Of course not. I'll respect your wishes."

"Good."

It was the middle of the night. Echo was at the edge of the lake, hugging his knees to his chest.

He had woken up in the middle of the night, and couldn't fall back asleep, and he ended up at the lake.

I see why he'd stop at the lake. In the nighttime, it looks like a giant portal to the night-sky.

But, Echo didn't care about that. He was in his thoughts. In that moment, the physical world did not exist to him.

Peace. Some would call it peace.

But was it? Or was it absolute hell?

All the memories, good and bad, that this place brought... it could break someone.

But this was Echo Alexander.

He just broke on the inside.

"Gods, Echo..." Ace mumbled. Since Ace was Echo's rebirth, he could feel Echo's emotions sometimes. Like a unreliable one-way empathy link.

And, as Echo slowly broke apart, his emotions were so strong it woke up Ace.

"I hope he's okay..." Ace mumbled.

Me too, Ace.

A mysterious figure appeared in the background of the town. No one seemed to notice.

This, was the Message Man. But I'll just call him by his real name. Owen Evans.

A lot of demigods knew his name. But not that it was connected to the Message Man.

Why did they know his name? Well, probably cause he killed 2 people. I'll explain later. Maybe. He knows no one would ever forgive him, so he just kinda turned into this strange mysterious figure.

Only a few people have seen his face/know he is Owen. Like, the innkeeper of that inn/apartment thing, Dominic. And that clear-sighted mortal guy, Quinn. There were a few more, but I don't wanna list them.

Of course, there were some people that may have overheard him telling someone who he is, or accidently saw his face, and actually knew who Owen was.

Well, long story short, they're all no longer with us.

Owen had lived in Brair since like, a few months ago. He lives in the inn apartment thing, which is why Dominic knows his identity.

Gods, he sounds like a superhero. He's not. More of a... not as murder-happy Deadpool. Just kinda exists and might murder someone every once in a while. Maybe not. Do people consider Deadpool a superhero?
