He had been working for the past couple hours on a dinner date he was having with the guy he had been in love with for years. Ethan was someone who [name] trusted and was friends with. He couldn't believe it when he asked Ethan out and Ethan didn't hesitate to say yes.

Apparently, Ethan had liked him for a long time as well. He smiled to himself as he pulled out the hot food from the oven. He wanted everything to be perfect so he cooked Ethan's favourite meal and rented his favourite movie.

If he wanted a second date than he would have to go all out and try. Most of Ethan's past boyfriends had treated him like shit and not the way he deserved so [name] wanted to prove to him that he was different and he loved him for him. He didn't want to use him like the others.

The last boyfriend Ethan had, only dated him for the fame and it had turned out that he was straight. Ethan was heart broken when he found out and [name] was so close to fighting the guy. Ethan was the one to hold him back and make him realise it wasn't worth it.

He couldn't ever imagine hurting Ethan, he was so kind and wouldn't hurt a fly. He wasn't someone who deserved to get hurt.

He placed the food out on the table in front of the couch, setting up the movie as well. Ethan had texted him saying he was only five minutes away so he wanted everything ready by the time he got there. He put his hand on his hips and looked at his creation. It was pretty good if he did say so himself.

The doorbell rang and he walked over to it, opening the door and smiling. "Welcome to my humble abode."

Ethan shook his head and smiled back, walking in and stopping when he saw the set up. A blush covered his cheeks and he looked back at [name]. "It looks perfect. Thank you." He walked over to the couch and stopped, "wait, is that...?"

"Yep. I remember you telling me that it was your favourite a little while ago so I thought I would try cooking it for you. I can't promise it will taste as good as it usually does but I can promise you will taste the love that went into it." He walked over to the couch and sat down.

"You really did all this just for a date with me?" Even though it was simple, Ethan already knew it was going to be the best date he had been on. As long as he was with [name] he didn't care about the details.

[name] looked at him confused, "of course I did. I know it's not much but I thought this would be better than going to some fancy restaurant and eating food we've never heard of before." He laughed.

Ethan came and sat down next to him, "no. I'm glad you did this. It's you and I love that. You've already put more effort in the first five minutes of this date than any of the other ones I've been on. So... thank you."

"You don't have to thank me, E." [name] blushed, looking down at the food he had slaved over, praying it tasted as good as he hoped. "I just wanted things to be perfect for you."

"They are." Ethan picked up the fork and took a large bite of the food. [name] held his breath as he waited for his reaction. Ethan took slow bites before gulping, a quiet groan leaving his lips. "This taste so good."

Success.
